Doesn’t deliver against its so called 4+ star rating. Checked in at 20.45 and was told the hotel couldn’t provide me with any food. The hotel is in a remote location, it does not provide room service, and the small restaurant (the only option) was full and couldn’t accommodate me. The restaurant needs to be booked ‘weeks in advance’, I was told. I didn’t care where I ate. After forty-five minutes and a visit to the restaurant to talk to the manager, I was told it was all a huge misunderstanding and that I could order food from the restaurant but would need to carry it to my room myself. Eventually I ordered a cheeseboard and it was agreed that somebody would bring it to my room.
The room had picturesque views and a tasteful interior. However there were no tissues, no complimentary water (the hotel sent some with my cheeseboard), and horrible, poor quality self-patterned towels. The room was 29C and took around two hours to cool.
The plumbing made loud noises intermittently throughout the night.
The staff are enthusiastic and friendly, however service was chaotic at breakfast and by the pool. (Wrong order at breakfast.)
The food though is good. Best scrambled eggs ever and an authentic tagliatelle pesto.
