Hotel Riu Plaza España
Premium hotel with a fantastic breakfast buffet, helpful staff, and proximity to restaurants and public transportation. A bit noisy but thats to be expected in a center city hotel. Mattress was a bit soft and not super comfy but thats the only negative.

Hostal Madrid Atocha
super nice staff at reception, specially the venezuelan guy. the hotel is remodeling, so that is a little inconvinient, but it was clean, nice and walking distance to good restaurantes and stores.
