Very large clean rooms, a little echoey because of the wooden flooring througout the hotel. Bathroom a little dated but perfectly functional and very large comfortable bed with view over the town. Waitress served a la carte breakfast in the beautiful garden was outstanding. A very quiet area just outside the centre, 20 mins walk down to attractions like the market, cable car and Blandys - and only a 5 min (€1.5) bus ride (#31 or #34) back up the hill to the bus stop right outside. Underground on-site car park was small but easy. I'd definately stay here again.

Our stay here totally exceeded expectations! The grounds are gorgeous and the room was enormous compared to the other hotels we stayed at in Lisbon and Porto. The staff were incredibly sweet and accommodating. The kitchenette in the room was such a welcome surprise. We were able to cook a nice dinner one evening that we enjoyed on the patio overlooking downtown Funchal. Definitely hit the breakfast for 12 euros at least once. It was charming and delicious.

A fantastic hotel the staff were friendly from the beginning to the end (big thanks to Nico for all the tips on trips and restaurants) the place was close to the old town and a cab back was about 5euro so very easy to get back. Hotel was so clean the breakfasts were great (they do fresh juice and you get a cake treat) the room was spacious and bed so comfy

This is a stunning property with a very homey feel. Every detail and service made it a very comfortable stay. All the staff are so kind and friendly, always greeting with a smiling face. Front desk Nono was incredibly knowledgeable and went out of his way to provide extra information and even keep me informed on weather details for my planned hikes! Highly recommend a stay here, I will surely be back !

Great place but please provide an iron
Very helpful staff. Good central location. Great breakfast and a lovely view from the terrace. My only niggle is they do not provide an iron. Neither in the room nor to borrow. So if your cloths get wrinkled its a problem. We stayed her to celebrate a significant birthday and my wife was unable to wear the outfit she had specifically brought.

This is a great wee hotel. Beautiful spaces. Comfortable room. Lovely friendly staff. Garden and terraces were lovely to sit in. Lounges were gorgeous. Stylish, relaxed and comfortable. Location is handy for central funchal 20/30 minute walk into old town and centre. It is all up hill on the way back to the hotel. No restaurant at hotel but plenty of good options in town. Friendly dogs in their own area came to say hello each morning as i left. The decor needed a little attention in my room - flooring with water damage and wardrobe scratched up/ worn. This is very minor.

Very nice welcome with a special dessert waiting in our room and a printed Welcome note. We had to check out very early and the hotel staff arranged for a taxi driver to get us to the airport by 4am.

This is a small hotel which is well placed in central Funchal, but is set back from the road which makes it very peaceful. The grounds are well maintained and the views over Funchal harbour are stunning. The staff cannot do enough for you and the breakfasts are hole-made and plentiful. This was our second visit and we would go again.

Absolute Gem
Our stay here was amazing! Our flight arrived after midnight and the shuttle we arranged was waiting with a smile. The night concierge was so welcoming and helpful. The rooms were lovely and comfortable. The breakfast was the icing on the cake, so delicious and in a garden that was beautiful. We explored Funchal easily on foot from the hotel and were able to leave our bags. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

Away from the hustle & bustle
Very nice quiet hotel in the older part of Funchal. The staff were very friendly & welcoming. Room was of a good size with the addition of a small kitchen area. We had a free breakfast on the first morning & it was superb with beautiful views over Funchal. Unfortunately breakfast isn't included in the price & is €24 daily for both of us so we opted to go into town to get breakfast which wasnt ideal. The only other thing about the hotel us there isn't really anywhere to sit & relax. It is half way up a steep hill but there is a good bus service with a stop literally on the doorstep! We enjoyed being on this side of town away from the hustle & bustle of the hotel area. It was near the old town restaurants & a lovely public swimming area. We had a really nice stay here.

Miss it already!
If you are looking for a quiet, non-corporate hotel experience this is the place. Welcoming, comfortable, great location, beautiful views, quiet. Could not have asked for more. Close to everything worthwhile in Madeira. Would stay again in a flash. The staff are lovely and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and well supplied. There is a grocery store not far, so if you want to stay in, you can cook in the well-equipped little kitchen and eat out on the terrace with the lovely view. Bus stop just outside the gate. Leisurely walk down to water, markets, & restaurants.

An absolute gem in the middle of Funchal. Behind a fairly nondescript wall/gate is a piece of heaven. The grounds are well kept and the view of Funchal is spectacular. The staff are ever so friendly and cannot do enough for you. The accommodation is spacious with a kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. Again, the views from the top floor rooms are amazing. I could not recommend this hotel more. And do try the breakfast!!

This is a quiet, small, comfortable aparthotel in a residential quarter close to the centre of a Funchal, with a great view of the town and harbour from the terrace. The staff are friendly and helpful and the cleaning service was faultless.

Nice roomy apartment with functional kitchenette. Shower not bath. When it rained our doors leaked flooding the floor. Hotel seemed unable to deal with insects ants and cockroaches know natural in hotter climates but there are remedies available. Well located 10 mins walk to old town, nice view over Funchal bay. Beware exit from front gate, is directly onto road and nearly killed by bus on first day! Overall enjoyed our stay, breakfasts recommended.

Fabulous memories
We chose this hotel because of its size, views and locality to the old town and it didn't disappoint. The views from our room (junior suite) were fabulous, taking in the town, harbour and mountains. The room was spacioua and well equipped and the breakfast really good and set you up for the day (no lunch needed). On top of this the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. It's a bit of a climb back up from town if you're not the fittest, but there is a public bus that drops you off at the door if you prefer. All in all a fabulous experience if, like me, you prefer a smaller type hotel.

Great small hotel, friendly and helpful staff. One downside WiFi poor 10 minutes walk to old town, a bit more back because of the hills, but much closer to the town than most of the big hotels. Great breakfast, not cheap €12 but you won’t need lunch Rooms clean, plenty of space and include fridge microwave and hob

Room with a view
Great to be able to relax on balcony with the lovely view. Close enough to the centre to walk around Funchal. Very helpful staff. Glad there was free parking (and not inaccessible like some of its type.

Residential area stay.
This property pays attention to design and what's important for a traveller. Does not have frills like mini bottles of toiletries but gives value for money in terms of space and comfort. Very happy with the location and friendly service.

Great room in a great place
The room, with sea view was great. As with most of Funchal, it is located up a steep hill. Very comfortable bed, small kitchenette with kettle, microwave, fridge and stove top. Helpful staff.

Quiet and well-kept.
While it's not super-close to the shore/marina/etc, it's an easy walk to get there. Very quiet area and nice grounds. My room was spacious and well maintained. Only concern is that the times I tried to reach the office ("Just call 9!") no one ever answered. However, it's a small enough place that walking down to the office took about 30 seconds. A great value for the price.

good aparthotel
This is a small aparthotel on two floors, set in attractive gardens with a terrace overlooking the town and harbour, in a quiet part of the old town, well away from the big tourist hotels to the west. It's a short walk to the seafront, cable car and the town centre, and an equally short but steep walk uphill again, but 3 or 4 local buses stop right outside. The rooms are spacious, bathrooms in good condition, and the kitchens are equipped with microwave, two hot plates, kettle, toaster and fridge. Take you own salt and pepper. We plan to stay here again next time we visit Madeira. All of the staff were helpful and efficient. Can't comment on the breakfasts because we didn't try them.
