Friendly staff that were very accommodating for our requests. Clean rooms, pet friendly with a long strip of grass just behind the rooms for the dogs to run and investigate. Free washing machine was a nice surprise too. Definitely stay again when we pass through Mackay again.

Very Clean, Spacious and Comfortable Room. Only concern was the Open Shower over a Corner Bath with No Rails for Support while Showering. Very Happy with Room.

From the booking to the reception to the stay and checkout everything was seamless and professional. The room was very clean, comfortable and dog friendly. This property has now become our motel to stay at as we travel back and forth to Far North Queensland. 10 out of 10 👍

I enjoyed staying at the accomodation but I am wondering why I payed $139 for the room and then an extra $150 for something else. Quite expensive for one night. I thought the room would only cost $139 as advertised.

We booked a Pet Friendly room it was co-ordinated very well. Excellent Service staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean, comfortable. Only negative was we wanted to wash the dishes we used but no dishwashing liquid or tea towel. A very small detail I am sure they wanted us to leave them. A big thank you to the staff we dealt with they went above and beyond to make us comfortable.

Good solid motel with great staff and a much better than average restaurant. Some other review said the bed was too soft I'd say it was a little too firm - so subjective. A pleasure to have room service at end of a long day. I''ll be staying again.

Amazing pet friendly accomodation. Very clean and smells lovely when you walk in. Staff so helpful. I loved seeing a doggy bed bowl and treats in the room such an adorable touch. Will definitely be back.

Very pleasant stay room was big & nice with an upgrade to a king room. The Bed was a bit too soft for us though but other than that it was value for money.

The room service was exceptional, food was fantastic, even our puppy received a treat. The room was very clean. Management and staff super friendly. Easy walk to the botanical gardens to stretch the legs, which we needed after a long drive in the car.

From the personalised doggy chew gift, to the high quality room amenities and sheets/beds, Alara is quite simply one of the best Motor Inns we have stayed in. The pool was a welcomed oasis after the six hour journey as was the fact the room had been pre-cooling for us. The biscuits to go with our tea and coffee were absolutely delicious. This will be our one and only choice for accommodation whenever we pass through Mackay again.

I booked this room specifically on the basis that it was pet friendly however this was not the case and I had to ring around to see if someone would take my pet in for the night. The property manager was lovely and apologetic about the fact that there were no more pet friendly rooms available but I wasn't happy with that outcome because I had paid for a room that was pet friendly. The room was booked during the time that there was an extreme weather event in QLD so I only used it for a couple of hours and then decided to head onwards to my destination because the motel would not accommodate my pet. The property manager wasn't keen on a refund but I instead asked her to give the room to someone else who was desperate for accommodation in such horrible weather which she wasn't keen to do either. I would not stay at the this place again.

We have started the process with Expedia (wotif) to have non-pet added into the room title so that people will be under no assumption as to the type of room chosen and paid for at the time of booking. The amenities had been used during your stay making in not possible to re-book or refund this room as cleaners do not live on site. You were given the choice on arrival to cancel your stay with us, which you declined. We are glad you made it through the flood water and wish you well. We appreciete very much that a room was made available for us with our 2 small dogs. When we booked the pet friendly Motel, there was no option to select pet or no pet. So we assume all was good with pets. The managers were so helpful. The room was great. Comfortable bed and pillows. Nice bathroom and shower. Highly recommend this Motel.

In the last two properties we stayed at we moved the beds so our son wouldn’t fall out of the bed and under the beds were filthy in both units
