Thoughtful touches throughout

Recently refurbished--just lovely and every detail so thoughtful from toiletries to snacks and books in the room. Comfy bedding and towels too! Perfect little spot for visiting to town or college and the owner and his family are gracious hosts.

Boutique Hotel Experience

Excellent little motel. You can really tell the owners have worked hard to make the rooms clean and beautiful. There are so many little thoughtful details. You can tell they love their little motel and are putting in the extra effort to make it a special place.

A safe, clean place to stay

The Amherst Inn was a very convenient choice for the event we were staying for at nearby Sweet Briar College. It was easy to get to and the staff was very friendly and informative about things to do and places to eat nearby. The room was clean but small, the ac worked great, and the outside appearance and parking area was neat and safe. It was well lit and comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and well stocked with lots of extras like ear plugs, razors, and toothbrushes (individually wrapped); the shower was small but, again, very clean.

This little inn was perfect for my overnight stay. The entire building had been renovated, so everything was updated with excellent features. My room was well appointed with a very comfortable leather reclining chair, desk, mini fridge/microwave and a host of complimentary beverages and snacks. Even the modern bathroom offered a basket full of toiletry supplies. This property is a hidden gem, and I would definitely stay here again if I’m in the area. It was a very pleasant departure from the large chain hotels I usually end up staying in.

This is our 2nd stay everything was good. Well takem care of and updated. Everthing looks new. The shower is a bit small and the there is no vens in the bathroom for the heat. But aside from that we will keep staying here.
