The Landlord and Landlady have recently taken over the hotel which was built in the 1100s and have already gone a long way to upgrade the experience of the stay. The surrounding town of Ludlow is beautiful with plenty of things to see such as the Castle and plenty of walks. Well worth a visit.

Stayed 1 night, the location is ideal, the room was really nice apart from the shower needed updating but other than that our visit to Ludlow was a very pleasant one! The owner was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble, would stay again
Lovely old building being refurbished. Bright spacious room. Great breakfast with dietary needs catered for.
Perhaps an extractor fan in bathroom would be helpful.
Staff where very friendly, accommodation was nice, clean and comfy plenty of tea and coffee in room. Only problem was when we got up for breakfast no staff turned up, one of the guests called the mobile number we where given and left a message..but no one replied.
I have emailed them but have not had a reply either.
The building dates from 1183 but it is entirely modern while retaining its historic character. The communal breakfast room (breakfasts are part of the price & made to order) & sitting room is well proportioned & has a fantastic view of the other Tudor buildings across the street adding to historic experience of Ludlow. The hotel is literally in the centre of town and provides easy access to shopping areas: local businesses; established family stores; coffee shops and restaurants; the outdoor market; the Norman Castle; museum and medieval Church of St Laurence. My bedroom was ensuite and beautifully furnished and breakfast was included in the price. The public bar is popular but can get noisy on weekends, so I was told.
When we arrived we were told owners had done a bunk taking all bedding etc with them so there was no room for us. The guy we dpoke to was surly abd unhelpful. Luckily we found a ( much more expensive) room at the very nice and accommodating Feathers Hotel opposite.
Be warned. They no longer do rooms. Since we booked there have been a number of temporary landlords. Current one turned is away, saying all rooms locked/ closed. We had any number of automatic emails reminding us of the booking and looking forward to seeing us. Couldn't be further from the truth.
Our 2 night stay at the bull Hotel started off great, met by host showed to our room which was nice and cosy and warm. Our first morning had a lovely cooked breakfast everything was fine until our second morning our check out morning we sat in dining room wlth 2 other couples waiting for a member of staff to come and sort our breakfast but unfortunately no one turned up so we had no breakfast which was included in the price, we even had tp leave our room key in the room door due to no staff, we actually read this problem in the reviews before we booked but just thought it was a one off but it looks like it must be a regular occurance so for this reason I wouldn't recommend staying here
When we went to check in the man who said he was a relief manager said the owner had done a runner and there was no rooms no beds or linen no towel he said the owner was still taking bookings but there was no rooms to let I said why didn’t you email us on the morning when we asked if we were still coming he said he couldn’t, we had got family booked in has well for a family birthday surprise, the week end was totally ruined 😡
Excellent Breakfast.
Right in the centre of Ludlow
Recently refurbished room and the opportunity to sit and relax in a large open lounge/ breakfast room
We had a great stay in Ludlow and this hotel was perfect for that. The breakfast was great, the service was good and the staff were very friendly. The room was comfortable. My only negative was the bathroom was a little shabby and no shampoo was provided which you come to expect in hotels these days. Other than that we had a very pleasant stay and would stay there again.

Last minute booking
This was a last minute booking as our favourite band were playing nearby. For the price, we were very happy. It is a very old, characterful building. The outer window was broken, which was fine as it did not affect our stay, it was more of a cosmetic problem than anything else. The bathroom was functional if a little dated. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was good value for money.
