This is one of the loveliest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. The bathroom in particular was wonderful, with a large window next to the bathtub providing natural light, a rarity in even very nice hotels. The balcony view over the swimming pool and surrounding hills was also lovely.
The service was not so hot. The staff was friendly and polite, but their English language ability was next to nonexistent, which is difficult to forgive in a hotel this (relatively) expensive. (On the other hand, this seemed to be the case pretty much everywhere in Luang Prabang. Perhaps the town's development just requires a few more years of tourist influx to train up the English skills.)
The free shuttle to town was nice (and well air conditioned!) but not frequent enough. Four trips per day will not cut it when you can only take 8 people (in a 59-room hotel!) back and forth at one time. The earliest shuttle, at 9:30am, was too late, and the latest, at 9pm, was too early. Hourly shuttles from 8am-10pm would be much more usable.
Overall I still loved the experience though. It was worth it for the beautiful pool, room, and bathroom.
