I would give a four or five stars, if they can keep up with the cleanliness of the property.the rooms are clean but the outside have so much dust, I feel that the owners need to hire more help, since labor is very cheap to keep the pool clean and the hallway clean. I have no complaints with the staff, the location of the hotel is very nice, the hotel itself is very pretty, only the upkeep is not very good.

Beautiful setting, large pool in a huge garden. Very friendly service. Short ride to town centre, free shuttle, though taxi is cheap enough. Very peaceful and comfortable.

We absolutely loved our stay at Le Palais Juliana. It was truly a special place, an oasis in the tropics. The staff were incredibly helpful and they were all at our service; they arranged everything for us and went above and beyond what was expected from them. The room was incredibly beautiful and impeccably clean. They also have a garden at the back where they grow their own vegetables organically - the food was really tasty; I especially loved the pad thai. The hotel itself is very, very beautiful - I loved the ponds with beautiful water lilies and lotus flowers growing on them, the decors that highlight the culture of Indochina, and the way they designed everything was truly on point. The pool was also really big - it was perhaps the biggest we've ever encountered during our 3-month trip. I highly, highly recommend Le Palais Juliana and would absolutely stay here should we go back to Luang Prabang.

We had a relaxing and very enjoyable time at this resort. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Excellent communication and assistance provided. The pool area was fantastic and most relaxing. The restaurant was great. Excellent breakfasts and we had a relaxing dinner one night. 5km from town centre, but regular free shuttles go which is helpful or you can use the bicycles which was fun. Highly recommend this place.

It's spacious and has a nice pool. The property is 2.5 miles from the night market and restaurants. The room SMELLS like mold/musty one night and smoke the next two nights. The smoke from outside came into the room.

A Very Nice Hotel
Staff were friendly and helpful, although the young clerk on the desk tried to hustle me into arrange tours and tuk-tuks through him as I was checking in. The room was beautiful and quite comfortable, but a comfortable chair instead of the traditional wooden couch would have made it even more so.The grounds and the pool were also very beattiful. The main negatives were really poor internet, distance from the center of town with infrequently scheduled shuttles, and lack of airconditioning in the fitness center.

Nice hotel if you want to be in a quieter location
Nice hotel. Bathroom had some issues with mold in the shower which can be easily remedied. Bed was comfortable and clean. Room was very nice in general. The pool is beautiful but we weren’t able to use it due to the rain! The hotel is a little out of the way for travellers who wish to be close to the action in town. There is a shuttle service but walking to town isn’t possible. The breakfast buffet is good and has a lot of choice.

Ok hotel, but could use some extra care
Nice hotel, but quite far away from the historic center. They have a shuttle but it runs very seldom, which makes it quite impractical. Breakfast food could use some improvement. The pool area is nice, but the pool should be cleaned daily (it looked quite dirty, not only from the debris from nearby burnings of crops, but also built-up from not being cleaned in a long time).

Nice hotel, but far from downtown.
Our room was clean and comfortable with a great view of the pool. The hotel staff was polite in general. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful. The shuttle service to downtown only runs a few times a day. So you usually have to get a tuk-tuk into town ( about US$7 ). The tuk-tuk ride back to the hotel from town is about US$ 6. The breakfast buffet was OK, nothing special. Overall, we had a good stay.

Beautiful hotel next to NOTHING!
The hotel itself is beautiful as well as the grounds it is located on. We had lunch here and the food was very good. However, it is located next to absolutely nothing!!! The hotel provides a shuttle into town at scheduled times and you have to book 2 hours in advance. The hotel can call for a tuk tuk if the shuttle times do not work for you but it is a 15 minute ride. Very inconvenient if you like to be walking distance to... ANYTHING!

Beautiful setting, great staff & top breakfast!
My girlfriend and Instayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. The staff were brilliant and really attentive, the hotel grounds are like a piece of paradise absolutely beautiful. The hotel was showing a few signs of wear but they seemed to be on with some renovation work as we visited (this was carried out well and didn't disturb our stay). The local town is also amazing and I would recommend you speak to the staff on the desk about organising any trips you have in mind we got a great deal on a private boat down the Mekong river. All in all a great place to stay. One final note was that the breakfast was brilliant, huge variety and new local dishes each day to try.

Expensive for what you get
The hotel was beautiful. One of the better ones in Luang Prabang. We could get tuk tuk to go into town for 50,000 kip per trip for the whole family of 7. The hotel also has airport transport for USD20/way. We stayed at the hotel during Lunar New Year and the weather was surprisingly freezing at 12 degrees. Our villas were on the pond so at night it was really difficult to bear. Especially if you sleep on the mattress you will be freezing to death. Thankfully on the last day of our stay, they gave us each a small heater in the room and we finally could sleep well. Other than that, the stay was fantastic. Their yellow curry was delicious and please try the Signature cocktail Luang Prabang Rum runner. P.S: there is no wifi in the room. So you can buy the 3G SIM card from town for 50,000 Kip. Enough for a few days and you can channel personal hotspot to your friends/family.

OUTSTANDING RESORT HOTEL
The room we requested was no available so we were given choices of upgrades ...we ended up in a magnificent, large room. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the manager went out of his way to be helpful. Nicely located a few minutes from the town centre via tuk tuk. Breakfast buffet was delicious as was the al la carte menu.....Will definitely stay there again.

Quiet, relaxing getaway
First time in Luang Prabang and not really knowijg what to expect. Thankfully, the staff were very helpful and accommodating. They even have a shuttle bus that takes you into the city (about 5 minutes) and picks you back up (there are set times). I went during the rainy season so it wasn't too busy. I even had the entire pool to myself for a couple hours. Overall, would definitely recommend.

Lovely and quiet!
My partner and I stayed here on the last leg of our drive to Luang Prabang. The Juliana was just what we needed after a long drive. Reception was swift and helpful, and the room was quiet and clean. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The only snag was the tepid water in the shower, but this was the case in most hotels we stayed in Laos, so that was not unexpected. The location is a little out of town, which we did not consider an issue as we drove there ourselves. Alternatively, a tuktuk or the hotel shuttle can be easy ways to get around.

Lovely hotel but no heating system
The hotel was lovely and looks better than in pictures. A bit far from town - 10 mins by tuk tuk. There were some winter Mosquitos but it could the problem of the region rather than the hotel. But there was no heating in room and hot shower would run out at night - these were serious issues.

It's a lovely hotel with nice garden and great pool. Things look much better compared to pictures. But there are a few problems: 1) it's quite far from city center - 10-15 mins by tuk tuk; 2) there are Mosquitos in the room even though it was only 17 degree C outside, probably due to the low rise of the buildings and the trees outside; 3) hot water at shower would sometimes run out, which my bf experienced on 1 of the 3 nights we stayed there; 4) most importantly, no heating in room, which makes it unbearable when it's 15-17 degree C outside. I personally don't mind the distance too much and didn't go through the cold shower, but the fact that there was no heating was a serious issue when it's cold outside.

The rooms and grounds are very nice. Beautiful big pool. It was quite relaxing. It's just a short tuk tuk ($3) from town. The free shuttle only runs every 4 hours. Too long to just hang out in town for us. The restaurant service was slow. It took 45 minutes to get a club sandwich and we were the only 2 in the restaurant.

A retreat alternative, not in the center
The hotel is absolutely beautiful. Great rooms, stunning pool. However its about 10 min tuk tuk ride to the center, and Luang Prabang is such a charming little center that I believe its a must to be located in the center.

Bad location, too far from city centre with only 3 shuttles a ay. Staff is very rude and try to rob you all the time(overcharge on the rooms, on the tours, on taxis, etc.). We had a very bad experience and wished we had chosen a hotel closer to town. Run away while you can!

The worst hotel we ever stayed in. The staff was very rude and agressive, and they were constantly trying to overcharge us for everything, from tour prices, to taxis, to hotel services, etc. a constant fight. We really had a bad experience and would not recommend it to Anyone, plus, it's far from city centres and there are only a shuttle 4 times a day so they can use there very expensive tuk tuk network! Run away while you still can!!!

Fantastic hotel, so-so service
This is one of the loveliest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. The bathroom in particular was wonderful, with a large window next to the bathtub providing natural light, a rarity in even very nice hotels. The balcony view over the swimming pool and surrounding hills was also lovely. The service was not so hot. The staff was friendly and polite, but their English language ability was next to nonexistent, which is difficult to forgive in a hotel this (relatively) expensive. (On the other hand, this seemed to be the case pretty much everywhere in Luang Prabang. Perhaps the town's development just requires a few more years of tourist influx to train up the English skills.) The free shuttle to town was nice (and well air conditioned!) but not frequent enough. Four trips per day will not cut it when you can only take 8 people (in a 59-room hotel!) back and forth at one time. The earliest shuttle, at 9:30am, was too late, and the latest, at 9pm, was too early. Hourly shuttles from 8am-10pm would be much more usable. Overall I still loved the experience though. It was worth it for the beautiful pool, room, and bathroom.

A Real Dream
The Juliana is a new hotel, opened in October 2010 and is a real find! The Management staff is very warm and friendly. They sincerely wish that their guests have a wonderful stay and did everything possible to make that happen. We had great dinner recommendations in the town and felt like we were staying in our own personal palais! The pool is excellent and the rooms are very comfortable. This hotel is in it's infancy and I can see that it will become a very popular and well-respected property in the near future! We wish the Juliana all the best!

The hotel is only 6 months old and is immaculately clean with the most friendliest and helpful staff ever. I cannot recommend this hotel more strongly. The Hotel was fairly quiet so breakfast was made to order which was also great –The Hotel is about 4km from the centre of the old town so the hotel provides a courtesy bus, however local tuc tuc’s can also be easily found - Brilliant place to stay

My wife and I spent some real
My wife and I spent some real nice time at Le Palais Juliana which has a beautiful large pool area where you can swim and relax. Staying for 10 days at the hotel we got an upgrade to one of the hotel villas next to a biotope like huge pond where we had a lot of privacy and nearly total silence. The hotel just opened about two months ago. Therefore the hotel staff still has to get the necessary professional routine but everyone is trying seriously and giving its best to make the hotel guests happy. Most of all everybody gives you a gentle smile whenever you talk to staff members. OK the hotel is not really close to downtown but there is a hotel shuttle to the center of Luang Prabang leaving 4 times per day. You may also take a tuktuk which is easy to get . The last hotel shuttle leaves downton at about 09.00 pm which may be a bit early but if you want to stay out late you can take a tuktuk to return to the hotel. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again.
