La Mata is a great mellow town to make your home base with great restaurants and a couple markets right down the boardwalk. Access to wifi was a real problem for me and needing to sit in reception to do my work was very inconvenient. Furniture in rooms very uncomfortable.. "We stayed a week at a Helgafell suite in the beginning of November. The suite was in two floors with a sundeck on roof. Modern interior, 2 BR, 2 bath and one toilet. The house in located in the Allegra gated community, pools in the area (not heated). Everything worked well, friendly and helpful host. Parking in the community area and street parking available. Good internet. Grocery stores within walking distance, restaurants, pubs and other stores in the town."

Rooms were nice and fresh but missing a lot of basics for a self catering room with cooking facilities. Beds were like wooden boards and had no comfort whatsoever. Noise between rooms was unbearable and had no sound protection, especially with an over noisy neighbour "

"One night stopover close to the airport with a 12noon checkout. Lovely place in pristine condition and friendly attentive staff . Good food at the snack bar. Great value for money. If I were to nit-pick…….no drink making facility in the room which pushes you towards the mini bar and the very comfortable beds spoilt by the mattress protector which seemed to have been made from crisp packets. Great hotel though, would recommend."
