Cash only, Good chance of Eviction! Stay clear!

Where do I start?! Upon arrival, the landlord told me they didn't accept card payments or cheques, cash only, so had to go down to the cash point to pay him. The room was basic but good enough for three working guys, but the smell from all of the bathrooms and toilets was terrible. Although the windows were double glazed, the traffic noise was really bad and went on all night. When we returned the following night, we were met by two guys who told us we couldn't enter as the building was being repossessed and were in the process of changing the locks. We eventually convinced them to allow us to collect our cases etc and were escorted up to the room and back out, in all of the commotion we all left stuff behind, towels etc but weren't allowed back in again. We phoned the number on the door and the owner told us we could stay next door, so we went in there, bolted the doors, just in case they repossessed that building too and spent another night listening to the traffic. Met a French Couple on the stairs who had booked for their honeymoon visit to London and felt sorry for them, at least we were just working there. I doubt if it'll be around for much longer, but my advice would be, spend the extra £ and avoid this place like the plague, before you catch it there.

Budget freundliches Hotel

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und bemüht einen angenehmen Aufenthalt zu ermöglichen. Das Zimmer hat eine gute Größe und ein bequemes Bett. Leider bedarf der Teppich einer regelmäßigen Reinigung (am besten Haussschuhe mitbringen) und der Fernseher hat auch nicht funktioniert. Das Haus ist sehr hell-hörig, aber immerhin war bis auf die anderen Gäste kein Strassenlärm zu hören. Isgesamt ist das Hotel eher renovierungsbedürftig. Die Bäder zur gemeinsamen Nutzung waren in Ordnung, aber müßten häufiger nach den anderen Gästen gereinigt werden. Trotz Erklärung durch das Personal, wie man den Boiler im Hausflur bedient, wenn dieser streikt, gab es Probleme mit durchgehend warmen Wasser. WLAN ist kostenlos und hatte sehr guten Empfang. Das Hotel befindet sich 2 min von einer Bushaltestelle und Ca 10 min vom Bahnhof und Einkaufszentrum. Die Lage war sehr gut. Alles in allem ein Budget freundliches Hotel in Zentrumsnähe mit sehr nettem Personal.

Disorganised check in.

Was asked on the booking form to ring the hotel before I got there to let them know I was nearly there but the number was incorrect. There was a different number on the door so I rang that and waited for them to come to let me in. They then told me that they could only take cash for payment so I had to find a cash machine. I asked for a receipt but they said to email them for one - when I did they said they needed a booking number that I wasn't given.

Niets speciaals

Douche op het eerste verdiep was ofwel ijskoud ofwel bloedheet. Enkel de overgang van de een naar de andere stand was doenbaar, maar van korte duur. Voor de rest niets speciaals. Metrostation Statford op loopafstand.

terrible place

the house itself could have been nice. But it's shabby. Seems no one is taking care. The bathroom was just horrible. I would never ever go there again.

solo se non ci sono alternative

wi fi non funzionante, entrambe le docce comunico non funzionano e diventano di colpo fredde, assistenza nulla e arredamento da clinica. Unico vantaggio è la vicinanza a Stratford, il punto nevralgico dei trasporti.

Min dårligste hotel oplevelse nogensinde

Mit ophold hos Cottage 76 var ualmindelig dårligt! Jeg blevet indkvarteret på et værelse fyldt med skimmelsvamp, hvilket resulterede i 3-4 efterfølgende sygdom med svimmelhed, træthed og hovedpine. Jeg kan under igen omstændigheder anbefale andre, at booke sig her. Ser man bort fra skimmelsvampen og det beskidte værelse, så ligger Cottage 76 ikke under min definition af et hotel. Det er et værelse i et hus uden personale.

Okay for price

Stayed here for 2 nights, the location was good with a 24 hour bus running right outside which goes all the way into Oxford Circus, and is about 5 mins from Westfield in Stratford. TV didn't work, and asked it to be fixed, however no one saw to it. The shower was very unpredictable as it changed constantly from hot to cold, and was not the cleanest. However the room was fine, and the wifi was good.

Good value for money

Good hotel stayed here for ride London. My only issue someone banging on the door at 3-4am for about half an hour. Also the room is quite noisy as it backs on to main rd. however if you want good value for money and near Stratford it is a good location and is clean and comfortable

Empfehlenswert, solange man keine Wunder erwartet

Die Eigentümer wohnen mit im Haus, man bekommt von Ihnen aber nichts mit. Die Dusche hat schon bessere Tage gesehen, und der Bauschutt auf dem Hinterhof ist sicher keine Augenweide, aber es erfüllt alles seine Zweck. Rein und raus kommt man dank eigenem Schlüssel problemlos und zu jeder Tageszeit; die Eigentümer geben einem beim Einchecken ihre Handynr. und den Code für das zuverlässig funktionierende WLAN im sauberen Zimmer. Ein Schalter für die Nachttischlampe wäre nicht schlecht gewesen, damit sie nicht nur nutzlos an der Wand herumhängt. Der Empfang am kleinen Flachbildfernseher (mit Sky) war tadellos, und ich habe, was den Zustand des Bettes und die Geräuschkulisse (mein Zimmer lag nicht auf der Straßenseite) betraf, sehr gut geschlafen. In 10 min ist der Bahnhof Stratford erreichbar. Auf dem Weg dorthin durchquert man ein Einkaufszentrum, in dessen Supermarkt ich mich stets mit preisgünstigen Lebensmitteln eindecken konnte.
