Lovely lake-facing room with a wonderful view. Comfortable bed. Spacious shower with lots of hot water. Friendly and helpful staff. Close to the convent and funicular. The walk back up from town could be a bit challenging for older or unfit people, but we enjoyed it.

A vacation from our vacation!

We took a quick overnight to Locarno from our Italy vacation and I’m so glad we did!! The room was comfortable and clean the view awesome. The staff friendly and helpful especially in the restaurant and bar. Also the food top notch from aperitif to dinner and breakfast best we have had in Europe so far!!!

Excellent hotel for quality of service and amenities. Well maintained condition , very clean. Lovely garden area to relax and use the pool. We travelled by train and only down side was the steep uphill walk to get to the hotel from station. Only 10 mins but hard going with luggage. Hotel provided a free public bus ticket on check in which was great for getting around the local area.

Das Hotel ist sehr schön gelegen, oberhalb der Stadt Locarno, an einem Hang mit toller Aussicht. Besonders positiv ist, dass man das Stadtzentrum in etwa fünf Minuten zu Fuss erreichen kann, was sehr praktisch ist. Auch der Spabereich sowie die Gartencafés sind sehr hübsch. Einzig ein kleines Gym. Einziger wirklicher Minuspunkt ist jedoch der Rückweg: Vom Zentrum zurück ins Hotel muss man einen ziemlich steilen Aufstieg in Kauf nehmen, was je nach Kondition etwas anstrengend sein kann. Zusätzlich fährt eine Bahn in unmittelbarer Nähe, die grundsätzlich eine grosse Erleichterung wäre – leider hält sie beim Hotel Hotel Belvedere Locarno nur auf Anfrage. Eine reguläre Haltestelle wäre hier wirklich ein grosser Mehrwert für Gäste. Was ebenfalls nicht so toll ist: Für den Preis des Hotels hätte ich einen modernen, gut funktionierenden Fernseher erwartet. Leider ist der TV im Zimmer sehr alt, verfügt weder über Netflix noch über ein zeitgemässes Smart-TV-System. Das entspricht nicht ganz dem Standard, den man in dieser Preiskategorie erwarten darf. Achtung Parkplatz kostet noch zusätzlich CHF15.- pro Tag was wir leider nicht wussten bzw nicht gesagt wurde. Insgesamt ein sehr schönes Hotel mit toller Lage und ein entspannender Aufenthalt– mit kleinen, aber spürbaren Verbesserungspotenzialen.

Ich kann das Hotel nur empfehlen. Guter Service, kleines Grotto beim Pool, gutes Club-Sandwich…und genügend P aussen und in Garage. Ideal gelegen, in 10 Minuten auf der Piazza. Bei Konzerten läuft die Zahnradbahn bis 24.30 Uhr. Erste Station Hotel! Reichhaltiges Frühstück.

Gesamtkonzept für Erholung

Bei der Ankunft wurde uns ein Upgrade angeboten, welches wir dankend annahmen. Unser Zimmer war daher im Bereich Stella und nahe dem neuen Spa Bereich. Wir hatten eine top Aussicht auf den See und genossen unsere morgendlichen Kaffees auf der Terrasse sehr. Die Suite war außerordentlich großzügig, sauber und gemütlich. Das Frühstück schmeckte uns sehr. Es war abwechslungsreich, nicht übertrieben viel. Es gab zB frische Omelette nach Wahl oder auch Lachs und Bresaola. Der Service war bemüht und freundlich. Abends sind wir einmal in das Restaurant La Fontana und genossen ein sehr gutes Abendessen mit top gemütlicher Atmosphäre. Der Spa Bereich ist sehr ansprechend. Der Saunabereich hatte mehrere Optionen und Ruhebereiche. Das Schwimmbecken ist eine Etage tiefer und sehr einladend mit Innen und Außenbereich. Viele Liegestühle und ein entschleunigender Ausblick.
