"Great location but parking can be a problem. A lot of dogs, to the extent that dog owners have a separate bar and restaurant. Do book in the other restaurant in advance to be sure of getting a table when you want it. It’s the best place to eat in town and the staff are lovely. Getting a drink in the bar after dinner proved too difficult."

"This was are third visit to the gladstone, Gavin and Stephen are brilliant hosts staff are excellent, food ot the hotel is excellent and not to expensive, car parking either side of the hotel. "

"The breakfast was delicious! The room was very nice too (Executive King). The grass needed mowing and cuttings/ weeds sweeping away - it would have the exterior look more attractive. Signage for the parking and overflow parking could have been clearer - it was difficult it was difficult in the dark. "

"Lovely room (206) on the ground floor with sliding patio door to access the peaceful courtyard (water, fountains, small trees) and chairs to sit on your own small ‘patio’. Spacious room, great en suite. Food excellent (Catch of the Day fish and chips - hake in our case - better than Rick Stein’s Takeaway version in Padstow) Hotel in a lovely setting. Great sunsets. Spa, pool and changing room (Ladies’ - didn’t see Men’s side) spotlessly clean. Friendly, cheerful staff happy to help and can’t do enough for you. "
