A lovely, quiet,spotless Liverpool guest house.

Spotless rooms with a friendly, very informative host in a quiet but convenient location in Liverpool with a perfect continental breakfast. We will certainly return as this is the nicest place we have ever stayed in Liverpool

Great surprise find

Was a short stop before I travelled by ferry, checked in late, had clear instructions from the owner, great communication. Room was really spacious, very comfortable bed and pillows. Included robes to use and a large bath sheet, which if you stay at hotels regularly you’ll appreciate! Really impressed overall with the booking, far nicer than I expected. Great area too. Safe, quiet and close to anything you might need

Three couples stayed overnight , each room different but all tastefully decorated in keeping with the property. Very clean, beds very comfortable . Host friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Highly recommend

Very large room and very clean but generally a bit tired. Weirdly no TV in the room, we didn’t need one but just surprised to find a room these days without one. Host very knowledgeable and welcoming. Would stay again.

My husband and I had a lovely stay at square tree house. It's very conveniently situated in walking distance of the city centre, but far away enough to be in a peaceful area. We felt very looked after and nurtured, every little thing was thought of right down to usb charging ports by the (beautiful antique) bed. We slept really well, the en suite was clean and generously stocked with toiletries, towels and face cloths. The shower was lovely and hot. Breakfast was delicious, so much food including hand roasted almonds and it was such a treat having tea and coffee made for us by John. John is a wonderful host and good company. Diolch yn fawr!

The house was spacious and beautifully furnished throughout. Everything was excellent, we were given loads of information and maps to help us navigate the area. We can't think of anything negative, we're already planning our return trip.

We had a fabulous time in a lovely room at the top of this house. The room was huge, and although the bathroom wasn’t en-suite, it was right next door and robes were provided. John was a fantastic host sharing local knowledge and great stories. Breakfast was a good variety of fresh fruits, yoghurts, sourdough toast and croissants with strong coffee. There was free on street parking right outside. A short walk through the park brings you to Lark Lane which is bustling with an abundance of bars and restaurants. There are several bus stops 5-10 minutes walk away which get you quickly and cheaply to the city centre. All in all a great place to stay, much more fun than a bland chain hotel and a complete bargain too. Liverpool was full of interesting things, we have only scratched the surface. We intend to return to Liverpool, and to Square Tree House.

The room and bathroom were well presented and had all we needed in plenty. The only issue was my husband was a bit too tall for the shower, but he is over 6ft. He made it work anyway. Should we stay again, we would ask for a room with a bathroom that might accommodate his height.

A truly elegant house

John, the owner, is an absolute delight. Warm, chatty, interesting and very accomodating. We were up staying for a wedding and he was happy to lend us an iron and ironing board and an extra heater while we were staying. Breakfast is lovely and the beds are warm and cosy. Everything you could possibly ask for in a classic B&B

We both really enjoyed our stay, everything was clean and the service was brilliant! We were given loads of useful tips on how to get around the city and surrounding areas and some food and drink suggestions!

Just ok

John made me very welcome, and passed on lots of local information. The room was large, and pretty comfortable, though it is odd not to have a TV these days. Wifi didn't reach my room (1st floor front), but I didn't worry as I have good data service on my phone, and i wasn't spending too long there anyway. The biggest disappointment was breakfast. Expecting a hearty full English, there was only a random 'continental' style mix of croissant, soda bread, cherry jam, smoked salmon, cold boiled eggs, and fresh fruit. Everything was measured out for the number of people coming for breakfast. Glad I hadn't paid full price for my breakfast.
