The property was very central to everything. The courtyard in the front with the Famous Panda wall Artwork was fabulous to enjoy breakfast or drinks. The ocean view from the patio was beautiful, if your room faced the front this was your view. We had the room in the back with a larger sitting area on the first floor. Quieter on the back side. There was complimentary coffee and water 24hrs a day. We would definitely return and stay at Pousada Alfama again.

Lovely hotel near the castle. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast and free tea and coffee all day. Lovely welcome gifts and first contents of mini bar free of charge.

Cool but tiny

The location of Pousada Alfama is excellent, as are the views from the rooms on the ocean side. But the rooms are tiny, the beds too narrow for two people, and the bathrooms the size of a postage stamp.

Small and charming

This is a newer, well maintained hotel in a great location. Although it’s on a very busy street, the soundproofing is excellent. The rooms are SMALL, with very little space to unpack anything, so if you like to spread out in your room, this may not be the place for you. Delicious breakfast every morning, friendly and helpful staff. Great value for money.
