"We were looking for a last minute room the night before the eclipse, and this was one of the few places still available. The past reviews were definitely a red flag, but we decided to take a chance on this place. It’s an older motel but it was clean enough. I didn’t smell any stale cigarette smoke as others have mentioned, but it does seem they use fragranced cleaners / air fresheners.
