Countryside enfolded the TJS and as soon as we walked in we were made to feel welcomed. Our room was clean and fresh. Everything you needed had been thought of, big walk-in shower. fluffy robes, small fridge with water and milk for your tea. We only had breakfast but was freshly cooked and lasted us all day. We loved our stay and would definitely go back. TJS gets our thumbs up.

A wonderful find
Stylish, cosy, intimate pub. Excellent food in the restaurant with locally sourced food, wine and beer. Bedroom was chic, comfortable, spacious and clean. The staff were all lovely. A really enjoyable stay and we will be back!

A very comfortable stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Jolly Sportsman. The room was very comfortable, the staff very friendly and the pub was lovely.

We absolutely loved our stay last year. The room was big and really warm. We loved our homemade truffles and the cordial. The breakfast in the morning was a delight and cooked to perfection. The staff clearly love their jobs everyone smiling at each other super helpful. No hesitation with coming back!

Simply lovely break
Such a lovely location, beautiful country pub, amazing food. It is the staff that keep these things too such a great standard, Chrissie was such a wonderful host, it felt like home for a couple of days.

Looks good but that was where it stopped
Got to the Pub booked in room looked good , Went down to get a light bite nothing on the menu as it was in the middle of nowhere we stayed and had fish n Chips 1 glass wine and a soft drink £60 . Off to bed the noise from downstairs was loud.had a bad nights sleep asked to change room as the bed was so uncomfortable they changed the mattress even though they had spare rooms. mattress was changed but no better left a day early when i booked out didnt even ask why we were leaving a day early. booked into another hotel so we could finish our christmas with our first Gandson

Dear Phillip, I wanted to write and personally apologise for your disappointing stay with us here at the Jolly. Please also forgive the delay in you seeing this response but my original one wasn't allowed for some reason so I have just seen that I can write again - hence my reply now. I do apologise about the noise on your first night - it is usually so quiet that room as it isn't above the kitchen or main pub area but I guess being Christmas people were a bit merrier than usual.With regards to the bed, all the bedrooms have the same mattress but I did swap mattresses in the hope one might be better. I am sorry you still found it uncomfortable. I really would have swapped rooms if I could but as people had paid more for the larger rooms it was difficult to do without them being degraded. I am so sorry you felt you had to leave early. I do hope you enjoyed your Christmas with the family. Our sincere apologies again

Beautifully unassuming from the outside. Once you enter the restaurant and bar you immediately feel the relaxed atmosphere. The dining area is lovely. Our room was absolutely gorgeous. Everything you needed was provided. The ensuite was stunning. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

LITTLE GEM TUCKED AWAY DOWN A LEAFY LANE
Great stay. Arrived late in the evening with not much charge in my electric car. They sorted out an extension lead so I could get some emergency miles. Nothing was too much trouble and the bed was super comfy Would have liked breakfast slightly earlier but that’s just my personal opinion

Fantastic Week in the English Countryside
The staff at the Jolly Sportsmen were exceptionally attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. The chefs were excellent and we really enjoyed the breakfasts and evening meals we had there

A liitle gem
Delightful setting despite solid rain for 2 days. Tucked away so absolute silence at night. Food was amazing and loads sourced from on site garden.

The grounds are gorgeous, the staff and owners are super friendly, the rooms were really lovely. Definitely worth a stay!! Wine list includes English sparkling and they sell Check Budvar. What more could you ask for!!

Très bonne adresse dans la campagne anglaise
Très bon établissement. La chambre était très confortable et joliment décorée, la salle de bains pratique. Le petit déjeuner anglais a été très apprécié.
