A perfect stay in Launceston

Staying at the Ashton Gate was an exceptionally pleasant experience. Don’t miss the freshly cooked breakfast by the hosts George & Jennifer and don’t miss staying a while at the Victorian style furnished lounge with free taste of port or sherry, coffee or tea. Everything is satisfied except WiFi is a little bit unstable. Highly recommend Ashton Gate for those who will stay 2 or more days in Launceston.

Beautiful place

This b&b was in the most gorgeous area of Launceston. The home needed some updating but really well appointed, with furniture and crockery just wonderful. The breakfast was great.

An amazing step back in time. Simply wonderful.

Ashton Gate B & B is a grand old home built in a grand style overlooking and close to Launceston's CBD. Large comfortable rooms with a charm and atmosphere to dream of. Very relaxing and just wonderful hosts. Can thoroughly recommend it as a place to stay and relax.

Wonderful relaxing and friendly

We planned to stay 2 days but added an extra day because we were so relaxed. Launceston is a wonderfully welcoming city with amazing restaurants and friendly people. Ashton Gate was the best place to rest and recuperate after a day of exploring. The guests lounge with its complimentary sherry was a bonus along with the delicious cooked breakfast each morning. The owners were helpful and a source of local advice. Would happily stay again.

Just bed no breakfast

Not to happy with my stay at Ashton gate. Firstly we received no breakfast even though we had fully paid in advanced for bed and breakfast. Apparently no one has ever left early for the spirit of Tasmania before. Fair enough if you don't want to get up and cook before 6:30, but you could at least supply cereal or toast we can do ourselves. Secondly not that its a huge deal in comparison but our toiletries were already used previously. Its not hard to change them and put fresh ones out when they are only about 15ml to begin with. Conclusion not value for money when your not getting what you have paid for.

Lovely place

Beautiful old house that was built in the 18 hundreds, very warm and cosy. They have done an excellent job, you felt like you had gone back in time. breakfast was supplied which was good and got you off to a good start. Hope to stop there again next time we are in launceston

Pleasant, but a little dated in terms of decor. Owner presented as less than enthusiastic. Property for sale, perhaps this explains the attitude. Parking at the front of the property, but not on site (not secure)

Absolutely lovely stay

My Mum and I stayed here for a quick stop over in Launceston and absolutely loved it! The house had so much character and the host was so welcoming and inviting. Great central location, service and delicious home cooked breakfast in the morning. Would definitely recommend this to friends staying in Launceston!

Enjoyed our stay

Really enjoyed our stay here. Was a beautiful old house. Walking distance to restaurants, hilly but was a nice walk. Breakfast was good with nice home made preserves. Nice sitting area with complimentary port.
