「A simple and basic stopover but worked
Ok for us. We were able to park motorbike around the side of the hotel and it felt safe. We walked into town and found a nice friendly restaurant with lovely local food, excellent value. It was a served breakfast, simple but very nice, in particular wonderful warm bread.」
「Our stay at Casa do Rio was exceptional. There are 10 rooms with stunning views of the Douro River and vineyards. Our room was spotless and tastefully decorated, and we were welcomed with a plate of fresh figs and white port and all ingredients to make portonics.
The grounds are lovely with an infinity pool overlooking the river and two semi private fresh water dunking pools.
The food and was outstanding! We made our dinner selections earlier in the day and were treated to an exquisite...
「Food was amazing, cleanliness very good and comfort was also good my only complaint would be service, Fawlty towers springs to mind for those of you that remember it, service was painfully slow. It's quite a secluded place and great if you just want to relax we found it to be more akin to an old folks home tbh but it didn't bother us as we weren't there during the day, the pool would have been good if it was clean though. 」
