Cool Red Roof Inn

Overall my stay was quite pleasant. Room was clean and comfortable. Good location for me, close to McLaren hospital, as I was visiting a sick family member.

I only stayed for 1 night for the weekend and it went only well. They kept this place cleaned but not too clean and the bed was pretty comfortable. The staffs were nice and they have everything you need for this place! I would recommend it here since it’s cheaper!

The front desk staff were kind and helpful, no complaints with them, I know there's only so much they can do. The first room I was in was horrific. Filthy and smelled SO bad. I was going to suck it up and stay in the room anyway, but then found the toilet didn't work. Front desk helped me swap rooms. Second room smelled much better, but was also extremely filthy. This was my second bad experience with this location, I will not be returning.

The good things: Cheap, comfy bed, lots of outlets by the bed, pets stay free, well lit at night, lots of grass close by to walk pets, near msu and Mclaren, friendly staff. The negative things: Old facilities, no Bible, ant infested, holey comforter, shower didn't get hot, dirty coffee maker, bad cheap coffee, no breakfast, crackling phone connection every call to front desk, stained bath mat and tattered towels, shorted a wash cloth. All that to say, it was a great price and we'd actually likely stay there again. Convenient location, nice setting near msu agricultural fields.

The staff that checked us in were friendly and courteous. The bathroom in our room needed a lot of updates including the walls washed and painted. The bed was clean. I checked under the sheets for cleanliness when I saw the condition of the room. I paid $189 for one night. This motel is old and in need of updates inside and out. Nobody should pay more than $59 per night!
