A Wonderful Place To Stay

Beautiful, rustic charm. Comfortable and welcoming and our host was amazing and created a feeling of relaxation and being at home. Would definitely stay here again.

Really lovely rural setting, animals wandering the area and a lovely laid back feel. Pool was good and accommodation nicely furnished and decorated. Host was really welcoming and generally was a great place to relax.

A Must visit - serene and beautiful property

Amazing location, nature friendly and one of the best host. We are used to corporate chains, this was a exciting amd relaxing experience. Surrounded by nature amd animals. A hearty home made breakfast and one of the most wonderful hosts we have encountered.

Abbiamo soggiornato nello chalet sul lago, una situazione molto particolare immersa nella natura. L’ambiente è spartano ma i servizi basilari ci sono (lavandino, doccia e il wc a secco).non avevamo mai fatto una esperienza così “wild “ ma nel complesso è stata una tappa molto bella del nostro viaggio. Le pecore curiose che si affacciano davanti alla veranda della nostra stanza al mattino ci hanno fatto divertire molto, la fattoria è piena di animali docili in libertà , c’è anche il Galletto che mangia le briciole sotto al tavolo mentre fai colazione, un aspirapolvere ecologico ! La colazione è da 10 e lode, la padrona di casa una signora molto gentile e simpatica.

Un séjour très agréable

Point de départ de plusieurs jours de visites en Centre - Val de Loire. Un accueil très cordial et particulièrement à l'écoute. Des petits déjeuners excellents et copieux, l'idéal pour bien commencer la journée. La piscine était très appréciable au retour de la journée et l'environnement verdoyant et calme très propice au repos.

Disappointing

When I arrived the place was deserted although the three houses that form this establishment were all open, ie windows and doors. I searched for someone, even in the fields surrounding the property. I telephoned the number on the booking confirmation, and the lady who responded told me that they were attending a funeral. She explained where my room was, and that I should install myself. The room was at the top of a steep flight of stairs, and had the added attraction of being infested with lots of bugs, that are popularly called “stink bugs”. When I switched on the bed head light, the bugs were drawn to it, and even crawled on my head. The result was that I had to sleep with the main room light on all night to draw the bugs away from me. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, although the duvet was not sufficiently warm. There are lots of animals on the property, and most of them walk around freely. The best part of the stay was the breakfast that was copious. The proprietor was very welcoming and friendly when she was there!

Out of this world!

Be prepared to enter in a completely different world! This place is a bit like Dr. Doolittle meets Pippi Longstocking and if you have any problems at all (!) with animals, you should probably avoid Domaine de la Gaucherie. That being said, this is an absolutely LOVELY place - esp. if you are travelling w/ (younger) kids. There is a multitude of four-legged and feathered friends living on the property, such as the donkey Harry who was actually the first to greet us at the car. Cats, a dog, horses, ducks, chickens, geese, a parrot, a chinchilla are the real stars of Domaine de la Gaucherie and they are only outdone by the fabulous owner and hostess who (upon request) even cooks a delicious dinner for all the guests. And breakfast was also out of this world! Would we stay again? In a heartbeat!!
