First, the property is extremely old and poorly maintained. The room we were given had a strong, unpleasant odor that made it uncomfortable to stay in. To make matters worse, our room was located directly above the reception area—an odd placement that offered no elevator, which was quite inconvenient, especially with luggage.
The worst part of the experience, however, was the front desk staff. The person on duty was incredibly rude and dismissive. When I requested a room change due to the smell and location, he flat-out refused. Strangely, when my wife made the same request shortly afterward, he complied. This behavior felt like blatant gender discrimination, and it's completely unacceptable in any service-oriented business.
Despite having prepaid for the stay through Expedia, the hotel placed an additional $945 hold on my credit card. When I called to inquire, the same front desk agent told me to “talk to my manager” and then hung up on me. I’ve tried following up several times, only to be given different excuses with no resolution.
Overall, this was one of the most unpleasant hotel experiences we’ve ever had. Between the outdated facilities, the smelly room, the unprofessional and discriminatory behavior from staff, and the unexplained credit card hold, I would strongly advise others to stay away from this hotel.
