"The property was on poor repair and shape. It looked like it was forgotten and just opened for a few weeks. Over grown plants and weeds. The view of the lake and clean sheets and towels were there only saving grace. The staff did the best they could given the condition the the motel. "

"The Kingsgate in Te Anau is conveniently located within reasonable walking distance of downtown. However, there is NO ELEVATOR (we were on 2nd floor!) and NO AIR CONDITIONING!! The hotel appears to be old and, although in fairly good condition, the lack of an Elevator & Air Conditioner were significant inconveniences. Also, their parking spaces are quite limited -- we were advised by the Front Desk Staff that if we drove our vehicle to dinner, we would most likely NOT be able to find a parking spot when we returned and would have to park wherever we could find a space along the street!
If we were to return to Te Anau, I would choose to stay elsewhere!"
