Wonderful experience! Exactly what we were hoping for. Amazing, healthy customizable breakfast ready at your preferred time. Beautiful, traditional Hawaiian.decor and wood throughout. The outdoor shower was so relaxing and the view from our private porch and the pool area is serene and gorgeous. Absolutely highly recommend if you like quieter more private accommodations .

Sweet place to relax

What a sweet place! Loved our stay here in the peaceful, serene, beautiful hills above Lahaina. Dan is a wonderful host, tends to every need, and full of great information. The morning breakfast set up is perfect. We enjoyed our daily tray poolside, listening to the birds helping us greet the day. The outdoor showers are an awesome experience! Who would ever want a traditional shower again? Note: be prepared to navigate your luggage down the stairs from the parking area to the house.

Our room was beautiful and private. We rarely saw other couples walking around. The views from the pool were gorgeous, especially during the sunset. The staff was amazing. Breakfast was waiting in the morning at our desired time with fresh fruit and homemade bread. If you had any questions, Dan was always around to answer them. It felt more romantic than a resort! I would definitely recommend this place!

Serene getaway in Maui

Comfortable, quiet room. Lovely views. Hosts were helpful and gave good advice about things to see and do. The bathroom with outdoor shower is amazing.

it has very beautiful landscape and the owner 'Dan' is very kind. The Lahaina harbor is close so you can go to famous restaurant and bar easily. but if you don't like any lizard or cockroach, you should consider about this house.

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and we absolutely LOVED it. This was a major reason on why we fell in love with Maui. We were a little worried at first because we weren't sure if the room was going to be small, and we had never stayed in a B&B before so we weren't sure if it would be weird for a honeymoon. But it was absolutely perfect. Much more private and romantic than any hotel or resort could get. The grounds were breathtaking and we loved days where we didn't do any excursions because being in our room or on the patio was just so relaxing and gorgeous. When we did go out for the day, I was always looking forward to getting back to Ho'oilo House because it is just that comfortable and relaxing! The breakfast was so good! I had thought we were going to go out to breakfast most days, but we liked it so much we ate majority of our breakfasts here! The POG is AMAZING!! Especially with their bread and jam mmm. So so good. Eating on the patio by the pool with the view of the ocean...we miss it often! Dan will also pack up a breakfast to go if you have an early day and are up before breakfast hours. He had it ready to go for us early in the morning at 5:30 a.m.! Dan was awesome, so kind and willing to help. Any question or need we had, he fixed it. Even the cleaning staff would go above and beyond to accommodate our needs. We were very grateful. All and all, we loved it. We definitely would come again!

Tranquil, serene, relaxing, the place was beautiful. Love star gazing at night. I thought I saw a lot of stars in the sky while sitting poolside, if you walk to the other side by the plants, oh my, the sky lit up.

The house, the location, the hosts, everything is just amazing. The right mix of laid-back and classy. The place is super tranquil and just perfect to unwind while also ring close to beautiful historic Lahaina and the rest of must-see places on Maui. I highly recommend this place to everyone who wants to get away from it all without missing any comforts. Hope to be back, soon!

Tolle ruhige Unterkunft

Das Ho‘oilo House ist eine mit Liebe eingerichtete Unterkunft. Ganz individuell wurde jedes der sechs Zimmer gestaltet. Der Service ist super. Dan der Inhaber versucht alles möglich zu machen und ist stets hilfsbereit. Die Unterkunft liegt etwas abseits an einem Berg. Man muss Ruhe mögen, aber der Ausblick ist unfassbar.

So this was a great part of our Hawaii vacation. Set up in the hillside with a great view of sunsets this was a pleasant place to stay. Dan is a gracious host and very familiar with the area. He made some great restaurant recommendations and was always available. The property is relaxing and welcoming. The bed was super comfortable and the rooms unique so you feel like you are someone special. Highly recommend.

I don’t even know where to begin. My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights as part of our Hawaii honeymoon. I personally have never stayed in such a beautiful house in my life. The house, and it’s location is more than I could have ever hoped for. It’s a stones throw from the beach and maybe a 5 min drive from Front Street (the “down town” area where all the shops, restaurants, and other great sights are). If it’s your first time in Maui I STRONGLY recommend renting a car. It will make your life 100 times easier. Dan (the owner) is one of the nicest most laid back guys you could ever meet, and he’s always willing to give you some ideas on places to go (and he’s good for some rock music conversation as well 🤘). Even his house keeping assistant ( I hate that I forgot her name) could not have been more pleasant or helpful. If we needed some beach chairs or a cooler they were sitting next to our car moments later. There were other couples staying at the house who we had the pleasure of meeting during breakfast, but other than during breakfast we really didn’t see anyone else. In closing, this place is an absolute gem and I would recommend it to ANYONE! My wife and I have already decided to go back one day and we only left the house Yesterday. Frankly we would probably skip everything else and just go back to the Ho’oilo House in Lahaina. Dan I hope you read this and know that your new friends from NY (Joe & Kasey) will certainly be seeing you again! Mahalo Mahalo Mahalo!!!

Honeymoon retreat

We stayed her for a week for our honeymoon, and it was a fantastic experience. The location is set aside from the hustle and bustle of the high tourist areas, but close enough to be just a short drive from most anywhere. The breakfast was high quality, with fresh island fruit, fresh baked bread and muffins every day. Dan was available every morning to offer advice on local destinations, and make recommendations. In addition to all this, the total cost for a week was significantly less than what we would have paid for a similar room at one of the beach resorts.

Awesome stay with Dan,Amy and family

Ho'oilo House is our favorite place to stay on Maui. Dan and Amy and their two daughters make everyone feel at home in their beautiful polynesian designed home overlooking the Pacific. Located on the side of a mountain it affords a panoramic view of nearby islands and the mountain with rainbows forming close by. The location is near most of the major activities including the town of Lahaina. We look forward to visiting Ho'oilo House again.
