Ayres Collection Laguna Beach hotels

"I guess I have been going to hotels that are not "vintage" properties. Cute little motel that is close to the ocean and on the main "drag" of Laguna Beach. Very quiet and free coffee, tea and chocolate chip cookies in the lobby. If you are traveling to Laguna on a budget, this is an option. Ocean view only because the house behind the hotel had been torn down and was under construction. Comfortable bed, and free (I think) parking in front. Desk person is a bit lackluster and could use some hospitably schooling in greeting and speaking to the guests. Personally, I would not return as the level of the hotel was to up to what i am used to but the price was right (not sure if $200 a night is right but perhaps that is the going rate). But, if you don't require a more posh, three star plus environment than this could be a place to try. Location. Location. Location. "

"The check-in staff could have been more helpful (like in finding parking lot) and welcoming. Room was great and so was the location. The restaurant on the ground floor had a soft opening the night I stayed and though I was invited to attend to dine, I had to leave after 10 minutes of being ignored by the wait staff upon sitting. "

"Beautiful view of the ocean and shoreline from the room. At high tide, the waves crash right up against the property. The view of the ocean from inside the room makes you feel like you are on a cruise. Great access to the beach. Bachir welcomed us when we arrived and gave us the ideal room. He was very friendly and warm. He made us feel well taken care of."

"No ocean view. No housekeeping. We were given trash bags to put our trash outside. We were told to put dirty towels outside room. Hole in bathroom covered with plastic and duct tape. Broken toilet seat which pinched upon using. We had to go to office for towels, cups, Keurig coffee cups. Our room was next to a demolition site with dirt and tractors visible on leaving room. It was my birthday vacation and very disappointing. I am filing a claim for reimbursement, I have all documenting photos. "

"I loved this property! The decor and vibes are great for a little getaway. The staff were friendly and the location was great. Directly across from The Montage with walking access to the beach. The pool is great, along with the drinks and snacks! The only issue was that our AC didn’t really cool down our room at night. Other than that, definitely recommend and hope to come back!"

"A charming small, very clean hotel with beautifully landscaped grounds, a heated pool, and lovely Spanish-style architecture. The rooms have artistic touches that reflect the area’s creative history — the property apparently once housed art studios, and even after renovation it still feels warm and unique. Our room had a direct view of the ocean. The staff (especially Kent) were genuinely friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Breakfast was delicious and included, with plenty of fresh fruit. A relaxing place to stay with lots of character — I’d happily return. "
