"I do not advise staying at the Ralf Hotel as the front desk staff were rude & unhelpful. The Hotel is well located but the air conditioning was not working & my room was uncomfortably hot across the two separate nights that I stayed in the hotel. I was told that somone from the Hotel staff would come to check the functioning of the air conditioning in my room, but no one ever did. April 2011 Medresa Thaalibiya, Algiers This fine medresa and mosque was built in 1904 by French architect Henry Petit in beautiful harmonic neo-moorish style. It is named after marabout (patron saint of the city) Sidi Abd-er- rahman-et-Thalbi (1387-1471), hence the Thaalibiya name. It has served as a school of islamic law, general islamic school for muslim children and as a mosque. The view with the sea and white multistoreyed appartement houses with blue windows is the essence of Algiers to me.

"The hotel was modern with the room being clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The only downside was the noise from the busy road at the front of hotel. Reception were very helpful and quickly moved me to another room at the back of the hotel for the second night of my stay."
