We had an amazing stay at the Four Seasons. We traveled with our 13 month old toddler and everybody was more than accommodating to his needs, which was very appreciated by us! The grounds are immaculate and so serene, it is a beautiful place! The rooms are spacious and modern, with everything you might need available while there. Highly recommend to stay there when visiting Kyoto!

Considering what this hotel costs, it’s a bit charmless, with miles long dim hallways and an utterly confusing system of elevators and entrances. The room, however, was great, the housekeeping staff very polite, and the restaurants fine, especially the buffet breakfast.

One of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed at. Our room was garden view and the most comfortable ever. The garden pond and tea house that we looked out on was both beautiful and relaxing. Everything is immaculate and the staff is helpful, warm and welcoming. In the spa I had an excellent massage and the food there is top notch. The room service staff and manager Maggie Ling were wonderful. Within easy walking distance to Temples and Museums. The Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto was a highlight of our trip to Japan.

Residence suite Room on 4th floor was spacious,elegant, and had rooftop views. Staff were courteous and efficient. Special thanks to Volter Guest Service Manager for his help. The one negative was one of the concierge, Hiromu, whose performance was not up to standard, and was close to rude.

It was very comfortable staying. Room was super clean and everything was well organized!! They prepared stepper for kid so that kids can easily wash their hand ! It was very sweet ! Will definitely come back to this hotel again. Breakfast was yummy also :)

The Best Four Seasons Hotel!
We have stayed in many Four Seasons Hotels before, Kyoto is one of the best two in overall experience, together with Bora Bora. The service here is by far the best! Looking forward to going back soon!

We got the four seasons room with a balcony overlooking the pond and garden. Totally worth the upgrade. Room was spectacularly clean and staff was super courteous. Spend time enjoying your room!

Four Seasons Kyoto is perhaps the most enjoyable hotel experience I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve stayed in fancier places, but nothing with such kind and helpful staff. The concierge was endlessly helpful in getting us to the trains we needed to take for our day trips. Almost everyday there was some fun and special gift waiting for us in our rooms when we returned. The room was cleaned for us multiple times per day. The facility is superb. The rooms are amazingly beautiful. Ours had a more “average” view of the beautiful bamboo grove next door. The steam room, gym, and baths are wonderful and lifegiving. If I had to nitpick I would say the pool is strange. It’s like it’s in a cave. Beautiful but without sunlight. The restaurant is a bit overpriced. I mean, $15 for a cup of coffee? Also the music in the hotel lobbies and such is lame. Typical elevator music. But that’s about all. Truly a beautiful hotel. Tip: come during the low season! We got a room for $700/night in mid January which is significantly cheaper than other times in the year.

Very courteous staff, top notch service, And staff went out of their way to provide support. The garden is the highlight of the hotel. I have traveled many places and I can consider both Kyoto and this hotel one of my favorites.

Everything is wonderful except-avoid room service
Each and every day of our eight day stay room service was not up to standard of a fine hotel. The orders were late and always always with issues. When items were forgotten the “re-do” would be met with a verbal apology but would still be incorrect when the arrived again. I called the main reception and let them know of all the specifics. Again, more pleasant apologies but no action or discount for the missing items upon the check out. It’s all about the way of handling issues. So overall the service was just ok.

One of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Housekeeping service was very erratic. Every day I had to call to get something they forgot...tissues, bath mat, cups spoons, coffee pods, etc. At the prices they charge that is not acceptable.

I really had more expectations for this property, The building is amazing! nestled in stunning Japanese landscapes. Fist of all , I want to mention , that I contact the hotel 3 weeks earlier to make reservation for 3 restaurants during my stay , and for booking a spanish city tour in Kyoto. I spoke with Yuki, very nice man , who told me to send the information by mail and he will answer "As soon as possible" Immediately when I send the mail , I receive a response from the concierge department mentioning they are busy and will receive an answer within the next 44 hours, however 4 day passed with any notice. I called back to the hotel , and told , I will get an answer soon. I received an email from the concierge confirming the reservations, including restaurants and tours, I called again to re- confirm everything, and told by Nao, and Francisca, that everything was arranged according to my mail and everything was confirmed. It was very disappointing to arrive to my first reserved restaurant and noted that it was closed till next month. (Did I mention We are from México travelled 15 hours , with my 92 year old mother?). When I calmed the concierge hostess she mention that an E-mail was sent to me explaining the situation , and they were very sorry. They ask for my itinerary to make sure my other reservations were confirmed, unfortunately, they lost our printed itinerary. It was not the service, professionalism, and formalism we expected.

The physical property was fine. My room faced a wall covered with foliage. A cab ride was required to get to anything. I think this is very overpriced relative to the other Japan hotels I stayed at - $19 for a cup of coffee, $350 for one person sushi meal of no great distinction, and so on.

6 nights at Four Seasons Kyoto
The location was beautiful, quiet and private - the room was spacious and peaceful with a very adequate balcony with seating for 2. Walking or taxi rides will take you to major sights. If you are comfortable with trains and subways, then you can get everywhere. We used taxis, and traveling across town was only $28 one way. Across the street was a small special Italian restaurant - Il Pappalardo. Some of the best Italian food and fresh fish we have had anywhere.
