Had a great stay. The Clarion is in a nice part of town with easy walking distance to dining and shopping. Rooms are quaint and comfortable. Staff was very friendly, and breakfast was very good.

The overall experience was just fine. They didn’t have parking available in the middle of the week, the thermostat didn’t work correctly and it was extremely cold inside during summer. Otherwise the hotel was fine.

Bed bugs in the hotel room

We found bed bugs in the first room (number 506). I went to the reception desk with video and they moved us to another room. Otherwise the hotel has a very central location in Kristiansand. The room was quite small and breakfast was good.

Bad service

When we arrived at the agreed time (3 p.m.) our room was not cleaned yet. The receptionist said that it would be ready in a few minutes and that we can wait in the lobby for a moment. We understood that she will come and let us know when it is cleaned and ready. We waited for almost an hour and when I went to ask why it is not ready yet, she asked my name and seemed that she did not even remember what it was about. Another receptionist joined the conversation and when he understood what it was about, he told immediately that the room was ready. We got the feeling that the first receptionist just forgot us..

Great Location but as ahead about parking

Was an overnight stay with a family of 4 so hard to tell about the overall experience with such a short stay. One thing was that we needed to use the hotel parking lot. When we checked in we were told they were book. I was never told to book ahead of time and parking in another lot was a slight challenge as we were leaving for the airport at 4am.

Cheap hotel trying to be a boutiqe hotel

Checked out after one day and moved to a neighbor hotel. The size of the family room was good. The room felt dirty, showering there the whole bathroom got wet. In general the hotel tries to be a "design hotel", but you so clearly feel how cheap all the design elements are.... Got a new hotel closer to the water and still enjoyed our stay in Kristiansand.

Parking was a little far away. I was not offered on site parking. We had an interior room. It would’ve been nice to have an exterior room. All that being said the room was lovely and the beds were very comfortable. It was nice to have a coffee maker in the room as well as a tea kettle. The buffet breakfast is outstanding probably the best we had in Norway.
