Dear Mrs. Catherine, First of all, I hope this finds you doing well. I wanted to express our apologies for the disappointment with the experience you had during your stay at the Tru by Hilton Knoxville North. I can certainly understand your frustrations and concerns regarding your fall in the parking lot. This is not the type of experience we want our guests to have, and I am sorry that this was your situation during your time at the hotel. We work routinely with our department managers to address quality and service matters. Please remain assured that we will be sharing your feedback and disappointments with the staff. While regrettably I cannot change the experience you had during your stay with us, I would like to help make amends by taking care of the charges for Friday night. We have refunded the credit card that was used and those funds should be available to you within a few days. I want you to know that our maintenance team had been out every day shoveling snow since it started earlier in the week. We had 6 inches on Monday and they focused on the sidewalks and the handicap parking spots. We had snow off and on thru the week and as soon as they cleared an area..... it would end up covered right back up. They went thru 180 lbs of ice melt/salt on the day of your arrival due to the light rain and sleet on Friday morning. It never got over freezing on Friday and we didn't want to waste the salt. It was to that point that the weather was actually too cold for the salt to help us keep our roads safe. With temperatures already having hit single digits and the forecast predicting more heading our way, we had already passed the point where salt would be considered effective. It never made it above 19 degrees on Saturday and many of our guests stayed over to keep from having to drive in this. We hired people to scrape our parking lot but the cars made it difficult to clear paths for walking. Once again, our deepest apologies for the disappointments you have incurred. While I wish this had not been your overall stay experience at our Tru, I would like to thank you for making us aware of this situation. We are always happy to provide extra pillows or additional, firmer, king sized pillows. I am also sorry that you found the refrigerator/ microwave setup to be less than ideal. We do provide each guest with a mini refrigerator in their room, and we have a microwave available in the lobby 24/7. We are also always happy to accommodate guests by storing excess food in our employees' breakroom refrigerator/ freezer and by providing microwaves upon request for stays longer than 2 nights.
