6/10 Okay

"Book a king size bedroom was given a two double bedroom and charge for the state of a king size bedroom. Rooms are not cleaned on the daily basis, but towels is replenished. Overall, the staff was nice and accommodating. The hotel inside and out was fairly clean. The hot tub could not be used. The pool is not open until 1 PM and close at 10 PM. The walls of extremely thin. The breakfast was better than most places I’ve been."

"The check in was easy, loved the bottle water (but learned later that I didn't get my check in chocolate chip cookie). Initial impression, the room was good sized, but was very musty smelling. Funny, I kept seeing "damp x" commercials on TV and I almost went out to buy some one my own. I was there for 9 nights, I normally keep the DND sign on the door, but after 4 days I needed some trash taken out, so I took the sign off each morning by 10 am. By the 6th night, I finally had to ask them at the desk to have my room cleaned, no one had been in all week. They still didn't come into my room. I had to ask the desk again on the 7th morning to make sure they came in, and also mentioned that the room was very damp/musty smelling. Maybe the AC? The BEST part of the stay: the location, very convenient to everything in Chesapeake (shopping, family, restaurants etc.). Also, LOVED the breakfast selection. It changed daily, but was always fresh, hot and delicious. The breakfast staff were always friendly and attentive. I also have to give a shout out to my girls at the front desk... they were fantastic. Every day they saw me they called me by my first name and we always had a giggle. Worst part: room smell and Oh... some guest in one of the rooms disconnected their fire smoke alarm and set off the alarm to vacate the entire hotel at 2:45 A.M! What an idiot! There are reasons you can't smoke in your room. That was definitely a 1st for me, evacuating a hotel. Staff handled it well."

"I didn’t realize when I booked the hotel that there were no pet free rooms. I don’t have an issue with animals, but when you wake up covered in pet hair (cat presumably), you might take offense. I left a review with the property as well as my number for a call back, but I have not heard from them. Also, the bath gel had not been replenished before my stay, and judging from the state of my clothes - the sheets had not been changed prior to my arrival. I think the concept of having a pet friendly hotel is great, but there should be a few rooms for those who don’t have any pets traveling with them. I inquired about that while checking out and was told that they couldn’t track which rooms had previously had pets, so there were no pet free rooms. Even though the hotel itself looked very nice, I won’t be returning."

"The staff where polite but when we arrived reception was closed we had to wait over an hour not knowing if we were going to be checked in or spend the night in our car called every number possible to get help but to no avail I booked it through Expedia.com and there was no number or a way to contact them"

"Room on second floor was clean and quiet (hoorah!) Staff was friendly and helpful especially during check in. Breakfast was hot and constantly kept neat and restocked. The nook itself was a little tight during the rush hour breakfast times, but it had highchair and booster seats available which we needed. It could only have been improved upon if the space could have been accessible after breakfast hours to use for card games or to grab a piece of fruit."
