"Had a nice stay at this hotel — the staff was very friendly and checked us in quickly during both of our stays (before and after a cruise). The location is ideal and is situated directly across the street from Harpa, which is a major transportation hub for buses, taxis, and the (no longer free) cruise terminal shuttle.
The breakfast buffet, if included in your package when you book, was decent and the Sky bar was nice in the evenings for a drink and even dinner or snacks.
If we were to offer any criticism, the sizes of the very dated bathrooms during both of our stays were disappointing — specifically the one with a very small corner shower that had a clear plastic partition and a tiny shower head which allows water to spray all over the floor. I realize that European style showers vary greatly in different hotels, but they need to do a better job of showing honest and complete images of the bathrooms in online booking sites. I would have paid more for a room with a larger bathroom had I known.
During both of our stays (we are two female travelers), the hair dryers were broken in both rooms. This was an huge inconvenience to discover this after we had already showered. This requires going downstairs to a crowded lobby and waiting in line with wet hair to borrow a hairdryer at the front desk. They acknowledge their in-room hairdryers are very old and many do not work, not acceptable, given what we were charged per night to stay there."
