Hosts were very friendly and attentive, providing a great welcome and suggestions for dinner in the evening, as well as a recommendation of an activity to do the next day after we checked out. Bathroom was private for our room, though not connected to the room itself. The bathroom was very nice. Our room also had a sink in the bedroom itself. Bed was a bit soft - the mattress was not the most comfortable, but overall, no issue. We very much enjoyed our stay, and if we stay in the area again would certainly consider the Avondale House again!

Our room was clean and comfortable with friendly, helpful hosts who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Introduced us to their friendly dog and they were able to offer advice on where to eat dinner. Plenty information in the folder in the room of local attractions if anyone wanted. We would stay again.

Hosts were friendly, clean room and bathroom. Guesthouse smelt of cats and dog and breakfast was adequate. We would not choose to stay here again.

Very reasonably priced and comfortable

What a lovely place. Very hospitable. Comfortable rooms and a delicious breakfast. Highly recommend. They recommended taking a quick drive to the Ruthven Barracks. Beautiful countryside

Property was dated, with dusty surfaces in room and a bathroom in need of a refurb. On a positive note the bed was very comfortable with fresh sheets and towels provided regularly. We did not use the hotel restaurant as breakfast food choices and an eating time had to be made the night before which we were not prepared to do.

Steve and Sue were wonderful hosts. Made us feel very welcome . Location was excellent with a resturant across the road and safe parking. Their home was ours as we petted the pets ( cats and dog) and had evening drinks with them both so very hospitable hosts. Their home if I am honest is a little tired in furnishings but that is only superficial. Adequate accommodation. Our room was small but I loved the bath situated at the end of the bed. Hubby wasnt so happy as there was no shower and with the toilet being outside our room and across the hall. Breakfast was also very good .

Cancelled reservation, no notice

So our reservation was for Thursday, May 22-24, 2025. We arrive at 5 & lady come out & says we don't have a reservation for that night, it had been 'cancelled." I never recieved an email or text and I had checked Hotel.com & they still had us down for the original time. The lady did check several other places in town and we managed to find a room but what if it was the high season? & it was more expensive. Then I called the next morning and she THEN said we were down for that night and the next but that was the 23rd & 24th which was wrong. What happened to her story of our reservation being cancelled? She said their "platform" gave them those dates. If I hadn't called, then would I have had to pay for the 2 days that wouldn't have been cancelled?

Kamer was schoon. Sanitair was oud en slecht aangelegd. Toilet spoelde slecht door en zag er tov de kamer onfris uit. Voor wat de kamer koste was het de prijs niet waard.

Perfect for our one night stay

Perfect for our one night stay. Friendly hosts, clean and comfortable room and situated a short walk from the town. Close to area attractions. Lovely breakfast; great choice with plenty of fruit and a vegetarian cooked meal was our choice to set us up for the day.

Cycling Holiday

We stayed one night on a cycling holiday and were very comfortable. Sue and Steve have a lovely guest house. The room was quiet and nice, and Sue helped us store our bikes in a secure shed in the garden. Our room had a large bath and sink, as well as a four-poster bed--quirky and fun.

Steve,sue,tyson,tabatha and missy Somehow the best just gets better! This second stay with you has been even better than the first! This is not a b&b its a home away from home..the rooms are beautiful,clean and comfy,anything we needed was provided and nothing was too much to ask for,thanks for making us feel so at home we absolutly love it here and its been a pleasure to get to know you all and share a cheeky chinese! Ein perfekter Kurzurlaub

Die Umgebung ist sehr vielfältig und lädt zu vielen interessanten Tagesausflügen ein. Die Unterkunft und der Service waren super, die Vermieter sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und das Frühstück abwechslungsreich und ein guter Start in den Tag.
