A truly memorable stay. The suite was delightful. Would have preferred a separate shower cubicle as well as the bath. The service was excellent and dining was a joy. Would recommend this special hotel to all.
We had a fantastic stay. Very friendly helpful cheerful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The food we had was beautifully cooked and presented and the canapés before dinner were delicious and a lovely touch with pre dinner drinks. Our suite was lovely clean and helped set the atmosphere of the hotel really well taking us back in time. The turn down service was a super touch and the fresh water drinking bottles were great to have replenished. The drivers were really helpful with our luggage on both journeys. It was good to have a parking place allocated to us in a gated car park altho a tight squeeze to park a larger car. We enjoyed the restful island with fantastic views. We walked around and climbed to the top plus used the swimming facilities. Overall a very special experience.
Our 2 night stay was exceptionally good from start to finish. Every member of staff we met was excellent and really made our stay special. This, combined with the food and drink, location and ambiance means that, for us, it’s one of the best hotels we have stayed in.
One of the best experiences I’ve had. Such an interesting and beautiful place. Staff were amazing, so helpful and happy to tell you about this incredible place. Will definitely be returning, hopefully regularly
Very warm welcome and explanation of the history of the Burgh island hotel. Champagne as well . Beautiful hotel with excellent food and selection of drinks
Wonderful stay. This was a surprise mini-moon gifted to us by family and it did not disappoint. Service was exceptional throughout, the hotel is different and memorable, but luxurious. Food was excellent, as well as the cocktails. It was just the relaxing few days by the sea we needed!
This Hotel is worth the experience and whilst the building is showing its age, it remains and retains its unique 'Art Deco'
concept.
The Staff are excellent and food is top quality.
If you want to 'get away from it all' give it try, there are no TV's!
Wonderful Escapism
A treat away for my 50th birthday. Exceptional service throughout our stay from bar and restaurant staff, through to the lovely cleaning ladies. Made my stay very special, fabulous food both at the Pilchard Inn and the black tie dinner. Any little issues were dealt with straight away and am already looking for an excuse to go back again, oh and you must brave it and take a swim in the mermaid pool.
Totally amazing. A true Art Deco experience. From parking the car, driven in the sea tractor, met at reception and shown into the Palm Bar with champagne. Simon made us feel very special as did all the staff. Can’t wait to come again
Wow what an amazing art deco hotel in an amazing location. The welcome was personal and warm. Nothing was too much trouble, every member of staff was so helpful. The food was great as well and I would not hesitate recommending a stay at this hotel. In addition it is a great example of art deco architecture as well as fixtures and fittings.
It was something that wife had wanted to do since she was a teenager. And now we both have, it is an iconic location with an amazing history and it has hosted some of the most famous people of the 20th century which include Winston Churchill to the Fab Four "The Beatles". It was everything we expected and for more.
Made to feel special from arrival - charming driver in Land Rover collected is from their car park to take us to the island ….welcome champagne ….delightful canopes before dinner …spoilt over breakfast and luggage taken to the sea tractor for return home when still charming man took our luggage up to the car park.
It is a special place …years ago when I stayed I missed having a TV and I couldn’t get phone reception …but the WiFi now works so I could relax …
It is a wonderful place to go to escape
