It was great: clean and spacious with friendly staff. Unfortunately. our microwave started smoking. I was standing right there, waiting for the 20 second reheat. I immediately unplugged it and reported it to the front desk in person. I was told it would be replaced or we would be moved, Neither happened. I left it unplugged when we checked out. I hope it is fixed before a fire occurs.

Ms. Joy. I am so sorry for the miscommunication. I spoke with Maintenance on Saturday. He switched out the microwave on Friday when this incident happen. I do apologize that it was not relayed to you. We strive to provide each guest with exemplary service. Overall the property was nice and provided a pleasant stay. Two negatives. The staff were not overly pleasant or inviting (this is hospitality). The second could and should be fixed, The lobby area AC was set at a very low and chilly temperature. I commented and the person behind the counter replied she thought it was comfortable, as she stood before me in a nice warm sweater over her clothes. It wasn't like a restaurant where they may keep the temperature low for the benefit of an active staff.

Very happy we chose this hotel tonight. Exactly what we needed after a long day on the road. Nicole was great at front desk. Our room is wonderful- very clean,quiet with really comfortable bed! Dinner at a nearby Restaurant. Even a Keurig for morning coffee! Right off 301 too!

Good breakfast every morning. Excellent coffee. Staff was very nice. Clean rooms. Our room was cleaned every day and I asked for extra towels and they were there every morning. Fresh towels every morning. We will stay there again when we’re back in town.

The night shift guy at the front desk wasn’t able to answer the questions I had about driving time and directions to some questions I had about the area and hotel but I feel like this is a training issue and that falls on management not him. He seemed like he wanted to answer the question but couldn’t and had no one to ask to get the information. All together I feel this was a nice hotel and not overpriced for what it had to offer.

The bed was really comfortable and the room looked clean, but the bathroom had some reddish goo in the corners. The soap dispensers did not work properly. The remote did not work, the clock was an hour fast, The clock had parts of the display burned out. The place was called Holiday Inn Express, but there was nothing express about either evening when I stood at the counter waiting to get waited on. Checking in, there was a lady who had paid for 2 rooms on her credit card, and had the documentation to prove it, but the hotel only had her down for one, so that was at least 20 min go round before I just sat down and waited. Second night was a lokg wait at the counter( had to sit down again) just to get batteries for the remote.

Everything was excellent except for horrible smell outside near the pool. I'm pretty sure it was the dumpster. The smell was overwhelming. Other than that, everything was great. Will definitely stay again.

We stay at this property every other month just about when we come to visit our son, daughter in law and grandchildren. It convenient to their home in Colonial Beach. Staff is always super friendly and property is clean. Beds were alittle uncomfortable last time around but we made do.

Needed a last minute convenient stay after we lost power at our house after a storm, in hot weather. Staff was very friendly, room was clean and hotel, our daughter loved the small outdoor pool. Would stay again in an emergency like this one, or would recommend if family/friends in town and needed something.

Totally lucked out with this one. It was a random pick sort of near our destination. Couldn’t be happier with our choice though. They offered to work with us when we arrived early, the room was spotless and the whole check in process was a breeze. Can’t think of anything we didn’t love.
