We didn't realize there would be 0 towels in the room with getting one for 2 Euro each. Also, parking lot was way too small.

They make an appreciated effort to help with parking and the lady at the front desk was very kind. On the minus side the room lacks power outlets, the shower lacks shelves or anything you can use to put your shampoo on, and other guests in the room were loud and inconsiderate.

Total dreckiges Zimmer. Einfach ekelhaft der versiffte Teppichboden. Bad war sicher schon ewig nicht mehr geputzt. Und das Frühstück hat den Namen nicht mal annähernd verdient. NICHT ZU EMPFEHLEN

Everything was simply perfect. It was one of the best hostels on my journey along the west coast of Ireland. Very cozy and clean bedroom, helpful staff, breakfast including good coffee, good price.

Wrongly over-charged

Asked for a fifth bed to be put into the room. Rightfully got charged for the fifth bed but when we arrived there was no fifth bed for us. Shocking

We stayed at 6 different locations and places all over Ireland and this was the only one that I would NOT recommend. I will try and add photos from my phone, but this was bad. I booked a 4-bed for myself and my daughter (the only option available) and considering that this place is almost brand-new our room was in a pitiful condition and the bathroom dirty. The front desk never volunteered any information you specifically had to ask for everything. The air in the room was very (!) hot and stuffy and even leaving the window open for 3 full days brought little relief. Even after requesting the bathroom to be cleaned nothing happened and the breakfast is a joke. For backpackers in dorms it may be ok due to the cheap price but for us it really wasn't cheap. The rooms are more than just basic - there literally is nothing but the beds and the outlets. No hangers, no shelves, tables... nothing. Not even a picture on the wall. The first time that I ever have stayed at a place where even my relatively low expectations have been undercut - I consider a hostel / hotel mainly a place to sleep and don't need any fancy stuff but I can not recommend anyone to choose this place. There are many B&Bs and other places to stay at and those are closer to downtown too.

Meitä oli matkassa 10 hengen porukka ja yövyimme kolmessa huoneessa. Yleinen tunnelma oli hyvä, hostelli oli rauhallisella paikalla ja huoneet siistissä kunnossa. Henkilökunta oli ystävällistä ja valmista neuvomaan. Kuitenkin pieniä valituksia tuli, esim. yhden huoneen wc ei vetänyt hyvin ja aamupalalla leivät, murot, maito ja kahvi loppuivat kesken. Eniten hämmennystä herätti se, että nähtävästi jokaisen olisi pitänyt itse tiskata käsin aamupala-astiansa, minkä koimme aika epähygieeniseksi. Nyt astiat oli kaikki käytetty kun viimeiset meistä tulivat aamupalalle, ei mukavaa sekään.

Beaucoup trop cher pour ce que c'est...

Après une certaine attente pour l'enregistrement nous avons reçu les clés pour une chambre qui ne ne correspondait pas à notre réservation. Nous avions réservé une chambre pour trois avec un lit double et un lit superposé et avons découvert une chambre avec deux lits superposés. La réceptionniste nous a proposé de changer de chambre en indiquant que celle-ci avait une salle de bain aménagée pour les personnes à mobilité réduite et disposait d'un évier plus petit. Souhaitant des lits conformes à notre réservation nous avons accepté. Le lavabo était plus que petit et il n'était absolument pas adapté pour faire notre toilette. De plus la chambre n'était prête donc il a fallu attendre. Le petit déjeuner était compris dans la réservation. Après avoir salué une autre réceptionniste (tête baissée sur son téléphone) le matin nous nous sommes dirigés dans la salle et il n'y avait rien à manger à part un reste de céréales. Je suis alors allée demander à la réceptionniste qui m'a fait remarquer qu'il y avait de quoi manger (reste de céréales). Elle a rempli les distributeurs et elle devait regarder pour du pain de mie mais j'attends encore... E passant devant la réception pour retourner dans la chambre elle avait toujours la tête baissée sur son téléphone. Nous sommes très déçus d'avoir payé 85€ pour une telle prestation.

Auberge de jeunesse très bien localisée (2km Kilarney centre), avec supermarché en face. Super accueil ! Nous avions une chambre (calme) privative pour 4 avec petit déjeûner, les parties communes sont excentrées de la partie nuit. Inter-générationnel, très sympa. Ressemble plus à un motel.

Rooms are not equipped with anything!

We booked a room that according to the reservation was supposed to be one twin bed and bunk bed for the kids. Well, that was not possible so we got two bunk beds instead. That was of course not a major issue for us. But what stroke us the most was that there is ABSOLUTELY nothing in the rooms except the beds. And I mean nothing. There is no table and no chairs of any kind (and no TV of course). There is not even hooks on the wall where you could hang your coats on. This is very strange as otherwise the rooms where quite OK considering the room rate and bathroom was OK (on Irish standards). All belongins and clothes need to be lied on the floor and that is not very cool. Place works with minimum staff so don't expect service and smile behind the counter, not even proper English. There are no towels in the rooms even if you have booked a room with own bathroom. You can get those at the reception but most likely you have to pay for those. We stayed for 4 days and the room was not cleaned even once. Not even the trash can was emptied. So, please don't let the reality bite when you book this place. For a hostel this place was however quite clean (residents have to wash their own dishes and wipe the tables) and also fairly new, which has some positive value or maybe we were just lucky to share our stay with other guests who actually kept the kitchen clean.

Clean and well maintained

We arrived late and were welcomed then showed to our rooms. There was only one washer and dryer which was surprising for a facility this size. Breakfast area was good with plenty of the basics you prepared yourself and then washed your own dishes which was fine. The kitchen was well equipped to do your own cooking. Facility was clean!!! Well maintained!!!

Booked a room with double bed and bunk bed but when we arrived we got 2 sets of bunk beds!! So when your booking make sure it's a family room not quadruple room as the only rooms with double bed is family room...even though it stated on email that we were getting double and bunk.we got a small discount..thank God we were only staying one night. Not a thing in the room only beds, no chair,table or towels in bathroom we definitely won't be staying there again!!
