"The Royal Ambarrukmo is one of my favorite hotels in Yogyakarta and, in fact, all of Indonesia. The staff and the (if I am not mistaken) Belgium-born hotel manager are welcoming, efficient, and always making sure you and your family are having a good time. The breakfasts are among the best in Yogyakarta, and the restaurant in general has a superb mix of Indonesian and European food -- all at a reasonable price. "The hotel needs to update its facilities because it is already too old. It does not live up to it’s 4-star hotel status.
