How many upscale resort hotels have you visited where the gracious owner and his golden retrievers are perched at a corner table in the lobby? (Giving new meaning to “dog-friendly.”) Yeah - the Betsy is that unique. A funky layout - two adjoining buildings that are connected by an interior crossover walkway - took a tiny bit of getting used to (think your first day on a cruise ship…). We stayed four nights, and balky air conditioning made the first day/night a little distracting. But the responsiveness of hotel staff more than made up for it. The Betsy demonstrates that real customer service is something you *do* - not just promote. We’d go back in a heartbeat.

The outdoor patio seating area was lovely. Manager was amazing. Very friendly, always around for assistance. Rooms were very clean. Breakfast was great. Good way to start your day. VIP experience was supposed to include a bottle of wine upon arrival which is a lovely special touch but apparently the new owner decided not to honour this so that was a little disappointing. Just a small thing but sometimes the special touch is what brings you back.

This is a great place to stay. Loved the location. We walked one day and rented their bikes on another. Room is cute, comfortable, private and cozy! Juan at the front desk was very helpful and gave good advice.

The Grand Guesthouse was centrally located so we could walk everywhere. The rooms were very clean and each room had a sitting area outside. The patio area was very cute and the breakfast was delicious. The staff also helped us plan excursions.

Very cute property, easy to find, and a quick check-in with friendly staff. The location is off the beaten path a little bit so it is quiet at night. Our room was very clean, but the cleaning products they use are very strong smelling and were a bit overwhelming for us. Our air conditioner died on the first night and they went right out and bought a new unit so we were able to stay cool which I'm sure was a hassle for them but we really appreciated it!

Very friendly and hospitable host. Loved being able to rent bikes which made travel around Key West easy. A minor thing but they need better toilet paper! Breakfast was fine but nothing over the top. Coffee was readily available.

Nice but noisy daytime from construction
Nice place. I would have given its a 4 if it had not been for the noisy construction site next door. Which has and will last for a long time. Maybe they should have done something to make up for it like a free bottle of wine or something. Certainly the price was still high Luckily its only noisy 830 to 6. But forget any tranquility during that time.

Thank you for staying with us last night. We hope you enjoyed your day in Key West and got to experience some of our local flavors and sights. Sometimes, one day is just not enough. :)Yes, the house next door is doing a remodel, which we had no advance notice of, and like most work done on residential homes, we have no control over that. The owners have assured us that the remodel will be completed within their timeframe and won’t last as long as suggested. They work during the daytime, when most of our guests are out exploring Key West, and we are very grateful that most of our guests understand the situation.

The property itself was beautiful. The rooms were clean. The courtyard area was a wonderful place to eat or relax. The only problem was the construction next door. Literally 5 feet from the courtyard area, a crew was sawing and hammering every day of our stay. It was very disruptive. If we’d known about the construction, we would have booked a different property. Had there been to construction, I would have rated this place 5 stars. It was otherwise a very nice place.

Very friendly staff. Small room but very well arranged to meet all our needs. Breakfast every morning outside offered lots of options. Comfortable outdoor seating. Very convenient for walking to Duval St.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Room was on the snaller side for two but worked out. Property was clean but in the loud side with all the construction next door. Overall our trip was very nice.

Great place to stay!
This is the second time we have stayed here. It is very easy to drive there and park your car with a plan to just walk to activities and restaurants. They do such a nice job of keeping our room refreshed daily.

Amazing stay
3 night stay. Deluxe suite. Spacious room with living area, fridge, microwave, couch and 2 person table. Clean and comfortable. Check in was efficient and friendly. An emphasis was placed on a completely clean facility!! The place was spotless! Complimentary breakfast included a nice assortment of items. Very quaint seating area in "courtyard" where breakfast was served. Parking is very limited, but we had no problems. Water pressure was a bit light in the shower. But, overall an awesome stay!!

This property is a gem. Very friendly and welcoming host who couldn't do enough to ensure we were welcome and enjoyed our staff. The room was spotlessly clean, the free continental breakfast and free water, tea and coffee and sun supplies were the icing on the cake. Within easy walking distance of everything the historic old town has to offer. Cant recommend this highly enough and will definitely recommend to all our friends and family

Juan was very helpful on check-in. The room was very clean. The AC had a difficult time cooling the room. The ceiling fans on high only turned at a speed of low. So the ceiling fans did little to help keep the room cool. Bed was very uncomfortable and the pillows were small and non-supportive. Room was very modern. Unfortunately, we would not stay on a return trip.

Steven was very polite and professional and made the stay worth it. Only complaints for us was no tv in the living room area and no water pressure at all in the shower.
