Another great stay at The Kern Lodge. We stayed in the Eagles Landing room this time. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the mini kitchen met all our needs. Michele, the manager, was friendly and helpful as always!😊

This is a quite neighborhood. Parking available right next to the room we stayed in. The room was clean and spacious. The only problem was the wifi. Although we had the right password we were not able to log in other than for a few seconds. This seems to be an ongoing problem since I have read other reviews describing the same issue. No one stays in the front office so if you need help you are on your own.

I had to wait over 30 minutes before anyone showed up at the front desk. That’s after calling and texting property management. Then there was no heating control in the room so that was another 30 minutes of waiting. Management sucks!

Mixed feelings
There wasn't anyone in the office when we arrived near 7:30PM. I tried the intercom next to the door and two separate numbers posted to call or text. I didn't get any answer from anyone of them. It was close to freezing outside. Finally, someone approached from behind me and opened the office. The room was nice, but there were bright lights shining in the only window near the vanity all night long. The heat was not on, and the room was very cold when we arrived. It took several minutes for the heat to turn on. There were very few customers at the location, and it would have been nice if the manager would have offered an upgrade for a larger room. We texted for extra blankets, and several were brought to us, but one appeared to have been dropped on the ground and it got dirt on the bedspread. Overall my satisfaction was mixed. The bed was a comfortable foam mattress.

I used to love this place...
Arrived at 5.30pm on a Friday evening. Nobody in the office so at 6.10pm I went for a glass of wine next door. Came back at 6.30pm as the clerk returned... Went twice to get the internet code but nobody in the office. Bells and intercom did no good Stayed here a dozen times but it has gone downhill. No bedside reading lights or side tables. So sad, so sad.

Our room didn't look like the photos at all. Could have been cleaner. Bed linens were decent. It sufficed for one night while passing through. Would opt for one of the places by the river next time

It was an amazing trip as always. The room was absolutely gorgeous, they even gave us a free upgrade because we come here all the time. It's great for families or any occasion, lots of amenities and the staff is always very friendly and helpful.

Very disappointing
Worst place I’ve stayed at. Very disappointed that it had an 8.6 rating when it should be a lot lower. The room smelled like cigarettes. Hair on the bed & stains. Sheets smelled clean so I sucked it up and slept on it. Open hole in the wall. Even heard a rodent scratching through the wall at night. Many more things I could list. By far the worst place I’ve stayed at.

We had a great time. My husband and I always stay here for our anniversary weekend. We love the Kern Lodge. It is a great location as we can walk everywhere. The staff is nice and accommodating.

My room was by the pool and sitting area, very loud at night 2am. Rooms are with old furniture and old floor, everything is old in the rooms. If you need wi-Fi connection, don’t take this place they have zero connection. Took me at least 20 minutes to find someone to talk at front desk. In the morning, we took a cold shower, they did not have hot water. We couldn’t even lock the windows. All locks are broken. Fire alarms detector are not in rooms they took them for some reason. I don’t know why. They still have those plates on a wall but not the alarm, weird. I can say good thing about this place is location, it’s clean bedding, barbecue place is great for gathering, they do have some stations for kids to play and you do have parking. That’s all good I can say for this place.

The first room we were given a key for had not been cleaned. We went back to the office to get a different room - the manager found a room but couldn't find a key. Finally gave us her key. The air conditioner dripped on the floor all night and at one point made horrible cracking noises. We were concerned it would catch fire. It's a shame. The property has good bones and could be really nice. We liked the outside chess and checkers games. Liked that it had a pool but didn't venture in due to the sign on the gate about not getting in the pool if you have diarrhea. Hopefully management/owner will do some work to improve things.
