We stayed only a few hours overnight it was literally a bed to sleep in. The room was clean , but the facilities were poor , no tea or coffee in the bar just the room. No food available and we did not have breakfast as we were away early the next morning . The receptionist was polite but all in all I wouldn’t stay there again

Curb appeal Kenilworth

The hotel has curb appeal and in a nice affluent area of Kenilworth but room we stayed in was dated and could have been cleaner. The bathroom was not up to standard (see pictures) although Sheets were fresh and we had a comfortable night sleep. The staff were pleasant but the adjoining pub had limited options for food/snacks which were of Indian origin. Great if you like Indian food. Plenty of parking outside in carpark with EV charge.

worst place to stay ever

waited one hour at reception to check in room smelt of urine with urine stain all over the mattress carpet in the room was dirty mold all over the window manager does not care about anything told me he was putting me in a nice room pictures will show you haw nice the rooms are there

Room service was available but very expensive tray charge so didn't order any. Beds could have been more comfortable as they were a bit hard. Booked room with shared bathroom by accident but was able to change to another room for a price.

Myself and a friend stayed for 2 nights, the hotel is lovely, the room was spotless the beds were so comfy. We are in the restaurant and the food was excellent, I would certainly recommend this hotel.

Fantastic again

Another great stay, second visit here and we were treated like family, warmest of welcomes from staff we’d met previously. The rooms are well styled, probably not as polished as they should be but all areas are clean, and tidy, very reasonable and relaxing

The staff were very helpful and responsive. The property is tired and worn but clean. Room was very spacious. Bed was squishy and like a couple of hammocks. The cooked veggie breakfast was terrible.

Lovely staff, especially on check-in desk! Property has clearly had some updates done, however these havent been to a super high spec - for example the painting wasnt done behind the bed (hidden by the mattress mostly).

Bit of a Mixed Bag

The staff on reception at check in (Jagadeesh?) was fantastic! Super helpful and really supportive. However, my room wasn't properly cleaned at all during my multi-night stay. Coffee / milk etc. not replenished and the towels were not changed. The shower on the Friday morning only produced cold water and I wasn't told the boiler wasn't working (or that it had been fixed by the Saturday morning). Additionally, the breakfast claimed to have vegetarian options, which I asked for at check in, (e.g. veggie sausages), but nothing appeared any morning apart from what was already out for everyone. When I asked the staff on duty they just said ("there are scrambled eggs and beans!"). Car parking was ample .

The hotel is shabby inside, needs some restoration work. Ceiling too low in the shower, my husband couldn’t stand up straight. Breakfast far too expensive for the quality of goods. All the staff we met were very helpful and welcoming though.

Nice,cozy building in a splendid location,away from the town's hectic life although located at the village road. A minus was that it was advertised as AC rooms but I only got a fan ... Staff was very very friendly and ready to help. Everyday the room was cleaned up. Car park big enough. I liked it,I'll be back.

Lovely place. Liked the decor and general ambience. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was lovely although the windows were quite old and did not block out road noise. Did not like the smell of smoke and "weed" as we were walking around outside the front of the hotel. This lowered the tone. Smoking area needs to be moved well away from the entrance! Food was ok, only had dinner there which was fairly basic. Would probably return if we were in the area, and if we were assured the smoking area had been moved well away from the entrance or any rooms/windows.

Stunningly bad hotel

Stunningly bad hotel. Food is absolutely atrocious and a disgrace . Staff ignorant and unhelpful at best. Room is of the drug addict hostel style with random kitchen fridges placed in the room as well as a bed with a mattress that had seen its best by the 1980s. Fire doors haven’t had their hinges oiled this century with the noise from them keeping you awake most of the night. No staff are present most of the time. Powdered scrambled egg for breakfast with out of date yoghurts. All in all, one of the worst examples of a hotel in the U.K.

Disappointing stay

Not great, have stayed here before in the newer rooms which were fine. this time i was in an older part above the pub. Room wasn't very clean or well maintained, nor were the corridors or stairs leading to them. The power socket next to bed didn't work. It was late by the time i got to my room so couldnt be bothered to raise anything with the staff. When i checked out nobody asked if everything was ok, i might have fed the above back but the check in staff seemed fairly harried and disinterested. When i arrived it took over 30 minutes for my room to be prepared, I wasnt offered a drink or anything, but I was offered to upgrade my room for £20 to £30 as i had booked a shared bathroom. Presumably if the possibility of a room upgrads was there, there were other rooms Icould have been given rather than wait.

It is incredibly basic and very dated. Everything feels very confused and mismatched. Our shower was more a dribble than anything and the button for the handheld was broken. Breakfast is awful, even for £12 I would expect the hot food to be edible! Staff were pleasant enough but we always had to wait a good few minutes after ringing the bell for someone to appear. Not the worst but not ok either!
