Was expecting a nice experience based on the type of beachfront room we selected. Both of our butlers were extremely helpful including Salim helping me discourage my extremely stubborn gf (who can’t swim!) from taking a kayak out on a very windy and wave filled day. She was not listening to me at all - and his assistance was above and beyond. Additionally, Anthony, the restaurant staff, facilities and especially the food was outstanding! Far exceeded our expectations. Having been in the sales and marketing business I have attended my share of buffet style meals. Every night GB treated us to something different and delicious. You won’t want/need to eat anywhere else! Last add. I don’t drink alcohol but I’m a bit addicted to zero sugar Coca-Cola. I asked for the mini bar to stock them up a bit. Every day we were there included 3-4 extras. Never needed to ask again. And try the hibiscus iced tea. Out of this world!

Very nice stay in Kendwa

Gold är ett mycket fint och välskött hotell. Det är byggt 2013 men är fortfarande i mycket gott skick.¨ Trevlig vänlig personal och mycket bra fräsch mat i båda restaurangerna. Allt är fem stjärnor; enda plumpen i protokollet är att gymmet saknar tre par hantlar; 3, 4 och 5 kg. Det är de mest användbara hantlarna för de flesta motionärer, de riktigt stora atleterna oräknade Jag påtalade detta första dagen och tänkte att de skulle ordna det under vår sex dagars långa vistelse men så var inte fallet. Jag kan tycka att ett högklassigt hotell skall ta höjd för att saker försvinner och se till att ha reservutrustning Stranden är fin, om du skall ta en långpromenad så gå till höger men se till att inte gå när det är högvatten för då kan du inte komma förbi Rio Hotell eftersom vattnet då täcker ca 200-300 meter av stranden. Väl förbi så kan du gå ända upp till Nungwi Beach. Vi promenerade ca 3 km norrut innan vi vände tillbaka. Promenera är skönt före 10 och efter 17, dess emellan; olidigt varmt, då är det skuggan som gäller. Två saker som vi funderar över; varför städar inte lokalbefolkningen på stränder och längs vägar? Vad gör alla unga massajer på stränderna, kan de inte ta ett vanligt arbete eller i brist på det, städa stränderna, jag skulle alla dagar i veckan hellre betala för det än att köpa diverse souvenirer? Hur som vi är väldigt nöjda så tack för oss 😊

Tolles Hotel mit kleinen Abstrichen

Das Hotel an sich ist wirklich sehr schön und gepflegt. Der Strand ist traumhaft und man hat wirklich viel Platz. Die Sonnenliegen sind relativ weit auseinander. Das Zimmer war auch groß und alles funktionierte, 1 - 2 mal am Tag gab es einen kurzen Stromausfall, daran gewöhnt man sich. Das WLAN funktioniert nicht immer und überall, es kam zu größeren Ausfällen. Wenn man darauf geschäftlich darauf angewiesen ist, hat man ein Problem. Das Essen war sehr gut, vor allem das frische Obst und Gemüse. Es gab jeden Tag frischen Fisch und afrikanische Spezialitäten. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, vor allem Paolo, der uns sehr gut betreut hat. Manchmal wurde es uns das obligatorische Jambo von jedem Angestellten schon fast zu viel. Was uns nach 5-6 Tagen extrem gestört hat, waren die lauten „Darbietungen“ am Strand. Dazu kam noch der Lärm von den Nachbarhotels rechts und links. Das Hotel liegt relativ weit weg vom Flughafen. Man muss sich auf einen Transfer von mind. 1,5 Stunden einstellen, obwohl es „nur“ ca. 60 km sind.

Resort itself is excellent and clean within the compound. Buffet menu changes all the time and offers plenty of varieties with many cooking stations. Staff was very friendly and considerate, and managers came around and greeted us everyday. They noted from registration that my daughter's birthday was coming up so they decorated a special table with blue beads just for us. There were plenty of activities and nightly entertainment. Our suites were very spacious and layout showcases local architecture. Overall we are very happy with our experience.

Food was excellent, and the theme nights were enjoyable. Pool was great and beach area was beautiful. The unit we booked was not available at check in, due to a plumbing issue--the staff went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with the less expensive unit we received. Money was refunded to me. The best part of this resort experience was the service and genuine desire each staff member had to make us feel welcome.

The grounds are well kept and beautiful. We had a suite beach view with pavillon, which is a bit of a mis-conception because in front of your pavillon is an area of sand then the large swimming pool and then the beach and sea which you cannot actually see! The suite itself was lovely. All the staff were friendly and helpful. It was our 29th wedding celebration and unfortunately on the night my husband was ill and I had to go to dinner on my own. They had decorated the table and had a cake prepared for us. The following night there was a BBQ on the beach, all the tables set out with candlelight, very pretty. Food was plentiful but - I had a chicken kebab which was cooked on the outside and raw in the middle! I pointed this out to the waitress when she removed our plates but she did nothing. My husband spoke to the maitre de who was very concerned and also bought her manager over to speak to us. They spoke to the chef who had cooked the chicken and all were very apologetic. To make amends the following evening they provided us with the Romantic dinner on the beach which was really lovely. We had our celebration cake and about 6 members of staff sang to us. The main buffet restaurant had a good selection of food and a pasta station. At breakfast again there was a good selection of pastries, a fresh egg station, toast and cereals. The all inclusive package is very restrictive with spirits and only one choice of red,white or rose wine.

Nice place, standard on the rooms and area is good not as on the pictures. Your are not able to Swim on the beach without shoes due to all sea urchins which is very sad and frustrating. The hotel is a low 4 star hotel. We expected higher standard based on pictures and description on the website but it was still good/ok

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gold Zanzibar. On entering the grand reception we were greeted by very welcoming staff and felt the stress of our 15 hour travel melt away. During our stay we dined on the finest cuisines like tasty curried crab and desserts that were great on the eye. During our stay staff were always helpful, friendly and genuinely very nice people. I'd like to mention some great personalities, Abu, Salim, Basho, Kombo and Masoud they really made our stay amazing. We visited in June 2023 and thoroughly recommend Goldie )as the locals call this great resort). The only negative for us was the evenings entertainment. It finished way too early for our liking however this is a minor detractor.

Magnifique hôtel

Hôtel merveilleux avec une plage paradisiaque. Le personnel est d'une rare gentillesse, serviable et souriant. La chambre était propre et coquette même si un peu vieillissante. Le gros gros point négatif est la présence de "beach boys" qui vous harcèle sur la plage du matin au soir (il n'approchent pas de l'hôtel mais dès qu'on veut aller se baigner, ils vous harcèle). C'est rigolo les premiers jours mais lassant sur la fin...

Un hotel idyllique

il n'y a pas de mot assez fort pour décrire la beauté de l'ile de zanzibar et avoir la chance de la découvrir en séjournant dans cet hotel magnifique est incroyable. Tout y était parfait. Le personnel, l'accueil, la restauration, la piscine, la plage... tout. Vraiment ne pas hésitez à y séjourner vous ne serez pas déçu. Mention spéciale pour le restaurant de l'hotel et son Chef Sunil un homme généreux et tellement adorable. Chaque soir le repas était succulent, du poisson frais tous les jours, on en pouvait espérer mieux. Merci encore pour ce séjour idyllique. Mohamed et Katia

DEFINITELY NOT A 5 STAR RESORT, MORE LIKE A 2/3

This is NOT a 5 star hotel. I would rate it maybe 3 the most. The entire hotel is dated, the rooms are old and gross. There were ants crawling everywhere especially the bathroom. When I told staff they said that’s normal and nothing they can do about it. The shelf in the bathroom where all the toiletries are and glasses for brushing teeth was slanted towards the ground so everything kept falling on the dirty floor with the ants. The staff barely speak English and are rude. The worst part is that my husband and I both got diarrhea from dinner one night. The staff didn’t really care and said we’re probably allergic to something. The all inclusive food was not good and the package was very expensive. I suggest buying food and drinks a La carte because it’s probably going to be cheaper. Don’t stay here unless you’re looking to rough it a little.
