The place was perfect for my stopover. The room was beautiful, clean and everything was high quality. The area was pleasant and it was quick to get into the centre and handy for the station. I had a great sleep before the flight. Communication and check-in was great too.

The entrance to our room was really old fashioned and extravagant (which I loved) then when we got to the room it was quite modern as it was a bedsit style room with a tv, fridge/freezer and a kingsize bed also a fan was provided as it was still quite warm during our stay.

Great stay with challenging check-in

I had a really pleasant stay here. The room was clean, as well as the shared kitchen you could use. Also the bed was comfortable. The room temperature was a little bit warm, but to an acceptable level (and since it was 33 degrees Celcius outside, I was quite happy with that). Furthermore, the location is great; close to the city center and (train and bus) station. Only the Check-in was a bit strange. I was there after 14:00, the door was closed and I did not see a bell to ring. I called the phone number given at hotels.com which was not answered. Therefore, I googeld another phone number given on some other website, and calling that number gavea non-English speaking person, so I thought the number was wrong. But after saying 'hotel?' the door opened and the non-English host let me in. Using Google translate, the Check-in and information transfer went surprisingly smooth, although the host could be a bit more friendly I guess.

I'd skip

The room was very clean and comfortable, although a few hazards to look out for. The bedside lamp has burn marks when turned on, so seems to overheat. Bathroom has a towel drying rack with the power outlet at floor directly underneath. I had to wash up a shirt and thankfully noticed the dripping water coming on the outlet. Check-in/reception times aren't correct. I was there in the morning to see if there was luggage storage - nobody was there despite being reception's opening times. I came for check-in around 14.30 (check in supposed to be from 14->) - again nobody there. On the wall was a number for English speakers to call - number wasn't in use. Finally a lady showed up and apparently check in started 15. Later in the evening there was a commotion (walls are thin) because despite getting booking confirmation arriving travellers were told there's no room. Both with my challenges and with them, there was no apology or effort to provide service - just cold "oh well, this is the way it is". However, that seemed to be the common attitude in Katowice because service everywhere went between non-interested and outright rude. I was only booked for 1 night and indeed, the room itself was really clean and comfortable. So, just be prepared.

it was a bed for the night.

basic, but it did the job. No bedside light, had to get up to turn light on/off. Shower water pressure low. very bad sound insulation to corridor. say reception open all day - it isn't. Hardly anyone there, and the help phone number on the wall doesn't connect.

Sehr schönes Zimmer im wunderschönen Altbau. Bequemes Bett und großes Bad mit Dusche. Einzig der Ablauf hat etwas gerochen. Sonst sehr zu empfehlen!!! Sehr nettes Personal.

Der Check-In war einfach und das Zimmer sehr ansprechend, modern und sauber. Wasser und Kaffeezubehör machten einen guten Service draus. 👍 Die Lage ist gut und in der Nähe des Hauptbahnhofes (ca. 10 min. zu Fuß). Allerdings war es in der Nacht sehr laut aufgrund eines Zimmers zur Straßenseite. Empfehlung von uns, wir würden wieder buchen!
