Positives: Staff accommodated my requests. Daytime staff in particular were helpful. We were able to check in early. Room was of good size with water whenever we needed. Breakfast was very good and varied, with eggs and hot drinks made to order plus buffet style.
Negatives: Unfortunately there were some issues with cleanliness. Room smelled musty. Floor felt a bit sticky. Mattress covered in plastic wrapping, extremely uncomfortable to sleep on as the sheets slipped around. No toiletries in the dispenser provided. Bathroom did not seem to have been cleaned. Bedroom walls in desperate need of repainting as heavily stained which made the whole place seem scruffy/unclean. Towel provided was frayed and stained not really fit for purpose so we used our own, next day we were given an adequate towel. Wifi in our room was strong but stopped working during our first night and was not fixed despite us asking staff.
Although not the fault of the hotel, there is building work noise during working hours, this didn’t bother us too much. Also night time noise from bars and traffic as expected in Thamel, not helped by our room window not closing properly.
Location is the only advantage for this place.Since it is in the heart of Thamel, which has some vehicle pass policy, private vehicles weren’t allowed inside. So if you have too much luggage, be prepared to carry it yourself.Only the hotel cabs with a particular pass is allowed to get in.Its in a prime location so plenty of options for food, shopping and money exchange. The room we had got didn’t have a patio and was quite stuffy (probably because we asked for a non smoking room) with a strong antiseptic smell, may be dettol or something like that. The room wifi wasn’t working, so was the Ac remote. The AC made a noise all through the night. The bathroom tap kept leaking all through out our stay as well. While trying to open the cupboard they provided, the thing was so wobbly it felt like it would topple over me.Felt like quite hazardous leaving a big piece of furniture not properly anchored. We stayed for one night and we are so glad that it was just one night. The service was okayish. Its probably not a place for couple or family.May be oriented for backpackers looking for a budget stay with minimal amenities. The price for this place and KGH was almost in the same lines and KGH looked much better from the outside.I don’t know how it is from the inside and if the situation there is better or not.Well won’t be coming back here.

Located in the heart of Thamel, Hotel Access Nepal is a hotel with a best hospitality and service. Also a very good breakfast in rooftop restaurant. Friendly staff and well maintained rooms with hot water made my stay memorable. Highly recommended.
