「It's a dated resort but it's well managed by staff who's friendly and tries to live up to its reputation. I hope they had more facilities for pet owners who like us travel light. 「The hotel is just a short walk from the port and it’s about 7 min away from Lion Square. The sound proof is amazing considering it’s on a main street and very close to the airport. Dimitri made some very good recommendations on restaurants - all of our meals have been amazing in Heraklion. The only recommendation I made is to replenish bottled water every day, rather than just giving 2 small bottles for the whole say. But all in all, good value for money and great hospitality! 」

「We spent at Castello Village Resort one week in September. We have the best memories of our stay. The hotel staff (receptionists, waiters, bartenders) were very nice and helpful. Our room was clean, towels were changed daily. Meals were delicious and plentiful. Of course you can find hotels with more food selection but for us variety of dishes and drinks was sufficient. 「Die Anlage ist traumhaft! Umgeben von einer Pracht von verschiedenen Pflanzen. Der Pool war durchgehend auf 30 Grad. Die Appartements bieten eine kleine Kochnische incl. Kühlschrank. Ein Balkon wo man bei Abend wunderbar entspannen kann. Die Gastgeber waren super freundlich und immer hilfreich. Frühstück konnte man nach Belieben mit einem einheitspreis buchen. Der Strand war Fußweg 20 Minuten entfernt. Die Betten hatten ne gute Härte, was aber ideal war. 」

Relaxing Family Stay with Great Views

"We had a great stay at Creta Maris Resort. The all inclusive setup makes it super relaxing – you don’t have to think about anything and can fully unwind. Most staff were friendly and helpful, except for one or two at Enomy Restaurant whose English made communication tricky, and the luggage staff who seemed a bit indifferent. Food-wise, I recommend booking the à la carte restaurants. Buffets offer variety but are average in quality. Enomy has more choices than Estia. We tried Alatsi – excellent service, amazing sea view, food slightly salty, but the crème brûlée was a highlight. Desserts overall are large and satisfying. Pool bar snacks weren’t great, but drinks and cocktails were excellent – perfect for sunny poolside moments. Our room had a partial sea view and the resort is beautiful, with lots of photo spots. There’s a private beach, plenty of pools, and activities you can book easily through their app. I suggest staying at least 3 days. With 4 or 5 nights, you can also explore the town. Overall, it’s not super luxury, but it’s a great fit for families and covers a wide range of needs. Recommended."
