Good location near to mrt
Location wise is near to Lui he night market. Overall experience is quite pleasant but till the last night we found out that our luggage had been touch as my the number code had been change after the hotel do a clean over of the room.

Cleanliness is what is expected of any hotel. Very run down hotel. Room has no window and toilet has bad design - floor gets wet easily after shower. We have to work around it rather than the amenities for us. Staff service is alright.

Convenient with public transport
Return to Kaohsiung to explore the city on public transport alone. Use this hotel for the second time for two nights. Centrally located, close to MRT KH RailStn, a busy hub for rail, MRT, and distance bus services. Ample parking if you choose to drive (like my first visit). Wholesome breakfast that will last for half a day, room size adequate, noise minimum. Convenient stores and food stalls nearby, but don't build up expectations for the cooking. Beware of this: rooms of number XX01 are in the blind spot of security cameras, so be sure to lock up the room properly. Someone rattled the door with a key card close to midnight, but luckily my door was locked manually.

Hotel within walking distance to main station.
Stayed 6 nights. Close to night market and Kaohsiung main station. Catch MRT to various places cheaply. Travelled from Taipei to Kaohsiung in U coach. Excellent. Then walked to hotel. So near.

HUGE room and bathroom in a convenient location.
Chose the Shihzuwan Hotel mostly for the location but was very surprised by the room size and modern bathroom. The jacuzzi tub (in the 50m2 room) was awesome after a long day of walking and definitely worth the higher rate. The immediate area is mixed with some modern and older buildings and with the train and long-distance bus stops in close proximity getting around is easy. Staff spoke English and were helpful.

Very handy location, mostly good facilities
Very handy location for Kaohsiung main (train) station and MRT, also several bus companies nearby, small places to eat, convenience stores, etc. Room was clean and mostly fine, bed was comfortable, but the towels were quite poor - didn't feel very good quality. The coffee in-room is that 'three in one' stuff which is awful if you don't like sugar in it. However there is a free machine in reception. You have to pick up breakfast vouchers each day for some reason. Breakfast was a decent selection for the size of hotel, but some of the hot dishes were tepid by 0830 as they weren't kept hot. Some however were kept hot. Free washer and dryer which could have been handy if required.

Great service, clean and neat facilities.
The hotel is situated near the Kaoshiung TRA Station, but not exactly within comfortable walking distance for those with bulky luggage. Perfectly fine for those with backpacks and without rolling luggage though! The room (bathroom included) was really clean and tidy, and much better equipped compared to other hotels I've stayed in Taiwan. The corridors were a little to dim for my preference, and could more brightly lit. Breakfast, too, was a good spread compared to other hotels in this price range that I've experienced in Taiwan. The staffs were really helpful and friendly, offering advice for various transport options to the attractions in Kaoshiung. For those keen to visit the Fo Guang Shan monastery and Buddha Memorial, the hotel offers chartered transport at NTD 700 per pax - which is reasonable compared to the rates that local taxis charge.

Very relaxing and comfortable room with location near to multiple convenience stores and one of the city's central stations. The shower and bathtub facilities were great for relaxing at the end of the day for better sleep later on. Staff were sincere and helpful. Will definitely stay again if visiting Kaohsiung

Conveniently located hotel with spacious rooms
The hotel is a slightly older hotel but located in a convenient vicinity (near to the subway and railway stations). The hotel rooms are very large and the one I stayed in had Jacuzzi facilities. Good value for money and a decent place to stay should you ever visit Kaoshiung.

Nice budget hotel near train station
This is an old hotel, compared to nearby renovated ones. Getting there requires some navigation among all the motor scooters parked on the pedestrian walks. And the sidewalk is not evenly paved. So it needs some skills to roll our suitcases to arrive there. But it has an underground parking garage, so it is convenient if we have rented our own car. The room is spacious, but there is a step before getting to the main area, and another step into the bathroom. This needs caution to getting in and out at nighttime. Food for breakfast is very Taiwanese, so don't expect to eat ham and eggs. This hotel supplies disposable hand towels which is a good idea, but unfortunately, it is not very absorbable.

When we first arrived we were put off completely by the thick odor of cigar smoke and smelly bathroom. Fortunately those rude (local) occupants soon left and the hotel staff went out of their way to clear the really pungent tobacco smell. However the smelly bathroom (vent)remained for our whole 3-nite stay - unpleasant. Despite that the room was kept spotlesslessly clean, the double bed was comfortable (but short)and the included breakfast was adequate. Staff were polite (very little spoken English) but not overly helpful. The hotel is very convenient to Kaohsiung Main Station (5 mins walk)and there are plenty of food stalls and restaurants closeby. OK (6.5/10) but doesn't measure up to Kindness Hotels?

I chose the hotel for its location close to rail connections. As with all rail stations, the area isn't the best, but is handy for various services,computer/camera shops, buses etc. The room was unexpectedly large, with a double sized bath which we didn't get around to using. The breakfast buffet was extensive and we usually ate enough there to last us the whole day. The staff were quite friendly although we didn't have a lot of interaction with them. On our first night we were woken at 4am by a 6.4 earthquake that collapsed several buildings in Tainan close by, but the hotel emerged unscathed. The tea making facilities in the room are good - with a hot water faucet instead of a kettle. We found it a reasonable place from which to explore some of Kaohsiung.

Delightful surprise hotel stay
The room is big and is clean, like the part where they dont use carpet for the flooring (uses laminate or something similar) as I dont fancy carpet flooring cus you cant see what is hiding there. Plus 1) Huge bathroom with Jacuzzi bathtub + TV in it. 2) Hot water dispenser in the room 3) Hotel staff very helpful, help to arrange Taxi (by meter) to airport 4) Self service laundry facility Cons 1) limited choice for breakfast (but taste is not that bad)

I totally enjoyed it! I arrived 2 days prior and had to head to Chia Yi. The hotel kindly allowed me to leave my luggage with them till I come back to check-in on the actual date. Thank you so much for that! Saved me lots of hassle. Room was clean and pleasant. They have filtered water for drinking! Air conditioning was not adjustable, but not a big issue. Breakfast was one of the much better ones you get in Taiwan.

Well equipped and strategically located
For the price we paid for the stay in this hotel, we are impressed by how well-equipped is the room. Besides, located centrally in the city, it offers easy access to all parts of Kaohsiung city. Definitely worth considering if you are looking for an affordable 3.5-4 star hotel.

It turns out the hotel is better than my expectation based on the price that I paid. The room is clean and the breakfast is great. It is only two minutes walk to the MRT, Kaohsiung Train Station and tones of long-haul buses.

a very convenient hotel which is about 8-min walking distance to Kaohsiung MRT station. The "big" double room with jaccuzi is excellent. You can enjoy bathing and massage in the bath tub. However, the air-conditioning does not serve the whole room. The breakfast is so-so but you cannot expect too much from a <HK$500 per room per night for a 500 sq. ft. room with jaccuzi. I will definitely book it when I visit Kaohsiung next time.

The Front-desk is very helpful. Am satisfied with the cleanliness, bedroom, bathroom and breakfast buffet. The only unsatisfied area is the self-service laundry. It is open till 10pm only and the dryer is old, it happened to breakdown during my usage that I had to dry my laundry in my room.

We stayed 4 nights here Pros: Great location, 2 mins walking distance to subway Friendly and helpful staff Spacious and cleanliness room Newly renovated Delicious breakfast Highly recommended Cons: When you flush the water in toilet, you need to hold the flush button for 1.5 seconds, otherwise you need to press again. No international sockets but you can borrow one/some from staff.
