「I was visiting a friend volunteering for the Peace Corps just down the road so my location was critical. Was pleasantly surprised upon arriving at the White Sands resort. My room was well apportioned and very clean. It looked out through palms to a beautiful white sand beach and ocean. They even strung a hammock just outside my door which made for excellent down time.

The good:
Location - I would rather stay at Vakaloa (30+ minutes from Nuku'alofa than the other way around.
Beachfront - Sloped beach.... and coral, but sandy (crushed coral).... can walk barefoot
Kayak - They were free to borrow
Snorkeling - Free snorkel gear. You could see some fish right out front....but a great spot about a ten minute walk up the beach.
