Decent hotel in good location. Nice restaurant, pool, and breakfast. Spacious room, a bit dated but clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Good stay overall.

Rooms on a River.
A hotel with some rooms that are literally on the river. These rooms have balconies, which give a wonderful view of life on the river. Basic but clean. An easy walk to restaurants and the railway museum and military graveyard.

The hotel is the worst hotel I have ever been in my entire life.It is very noisy at night and the staff are not showing any responsibility to help me out during the night.I can’t sleep at all.I thought going to this hotel will give me a good night rest but I realised I am wrong at the first moment I step into this hotel.

Hotel rate is completely unreasonable
River Kwai Hotel is well painted from the exterior but the inside premise needs to be renovated. The room assigned to me has old fixtures and not well maintained. Stinky bidet with little bugs crawling around. The aircon is also old, hence, cannot give cool ambiance. Free Wifi is terrible, frequently asked for log-in username and password. On the other hand, breakfast is good and the hotel's location is in strategic position. It is walking distance from the bus station (7-10 min), night market, kanchanaburi train station, and prisoner of war cemetery (7-10 min). There are nearby restaurants and across the street is the 7-11 convenience store.

One night stay
The hotel is extremely outdated and the hotel is on need of repair and renovation badly, the floors were all cracked up, the bed was broken with springs coming through the mattress, bathroom was not in good shape, the nightclub next door was thumping till 3am, when I asked for a different room due to condition I was told all are the same.

Quick hotel review
Big hotel but a bit outdated. Think the rooms depend what floor you’re put on. Other floors seemed a bit more tidier than ours. Swimming pool was a nice addition. They have a night club which is next to the hotel so be prepared to be kept up until early hours. Shower was cold. We asked if it could be sorted. Guy tried but it was only luke warm at best. It was £19 a night. You can book a basic hotel for half that nearby but not in a big hotel. Breakfast was pretty good though. A lot of choice. It’s not a bad place but noise at night from club lets it down and price is probably expensive for this part of Thailand. Happy travels

Very average.
Not really close to anywhere. Have to get transport to or from anywhere of any interest, and that is a lot easier said than done. We felt the hotel was very much geared towards Asian tourists, rather than Western ones. The whole place was rather dated and did not represent good value for money. Whilst breakfasts were supposedly "more than you could eat", that only applied if you ate the food they provided.

Great in town location
Great entry and wonderful staff, clean neat rooms with some old world charm, the bath was a bonus but no hot water, just tepid i could deal with that, large spacious dining room and the free breakfast was huge with plenty of choices, a great out side bar with live music was enjoyed by many and the food as always was amazing, i will stay again on my next visit.... all in all 8/10 great value for money.

Ok for price but Glitz Club will keep you awake
Definitely showing its age but gave it an old world class type of feel. Like all of thailand, hot water was rare but here, at times, we'd have NO water. Middle of shower and water would stop for a few minutes then come back then stop again. Staff was friendly but not knowledgeable of the area. Asked about motor bike rental and were told there weren't any around. 3 days later we found 5 places that rent motorbikes. Rooms were clean. Breakfast had few items. Glitz Club is attached to hotel and packed every night. We were opposite of the club on the top floor and our floor still vibrated (boom boom boom boom) so bring earplugs if you want to sleep.

Older Hotel in middle of renovations
Our experince was on a floor that hasn't yet been renovated. Outside of hotel has had a major make-over. The entry is lovely however common areas of our floor had stained wornout carpet. Bathroom had been patched many times. Next to no hot water. One of us had a warm shower once in 2 days. Renovation works could be heard all day. No lunch food options at the hotel.

Sorry - I hate to see the worst in places, but this hotel needs to buck up it's ideas. The old adage: "you pay peanuts you get monkeys" is so true is this case. The Reception Staff were surly and commanding, the lobby is an eclectic mish-mash of 20th century decor, the carpet in the hallway of the third floor is horrendous - wouldn't let my dog lie on it, the bedroom was OK although there were 5 long black hairs on the bathtub, and the sofa bed looked like someone had eaten a week of meals off of it. The floor of the breakfast dining room was filthy and there were flies landing on the food as there we no covers on the buffet. Don't do it - spend a bit more and book elsewhere.

Yeah it was good for the price! Breakfast had a good spread. Pool was nice and clean. They very kindly changed my booking for free after I booked the wrong night so really appreciate that. It's close to the bus and train station, but deffo a taxi ride to the bridge.

Good location and great people!
The beds were hard and there were a couple of mosquitoes flying around, but other than that it was great! The breakfast is awesome and the staff is very friendly. It's great for one or two nights, but maybe stay somewhere else for longer to be more comfortable.
