"Bed was very old and uncomfortable Room was much smaller then the pictures made it appear And the hot spring dosnt allow people with tattoos! I know this about some Onsen But didn’t expect it in the city at a spa /hot spring "

"The hotel is approximately a 10-15 walk from the station. The room is small but what you expect in Japanese hotels. I should point out there are no storage facilities for clothes apart from a few hangers so you are living out of your luggage. The staff where very helpful and pleasant."

"Had a great stay at Amanek Asahikawa! The staff were lovely and accommodating, allowing us to leave our luggage at the hotel before check in so we could explore the city. We had the breakfast buffet included which was definitely busy but had a good variety of food and lots of seating. Loved the public baths and staff allowed us to use the facilities even though we have tattoos - definitely a plus! The hotel is directly opposite the main train/bus station and a massive mall, with lots of food and shopping options close by. Thank you to the lovely staff at Hotel Amanek :) "

"If I could give zero stars I would. I could give a list but I’ll simply just say that after our first night of a 4 night stay my wife became ill and we were instructed by her primary care provider to move from this remote location to a place closer to definitive medical care. We had to cut our stay short after the first night. The hotel said that because we booked through Expedia/Hotels.com that they couldn’t issue a refund… I had purchased trip insurance through Hotels.com and they denied our claim because we didn’t visit a doctor in Japan in person… This hotel is an hour or more away from any restaurants and they only take reservations for their restaurants days ahead… there was no food when we arrived so we ate microwave cup of noodles for dinner… in Japan… I did not recommend this hotel and I do not recommend booking through Hotels.com"
