Amazing room and views!

Amazing views!!! Size of room was great. Bathroom was huge as well. AC worked very well. Best one we had out of any other places we stayed on our 2 week trip. Would stay here again.

Lovely location

Beautiful host from next door at Alsos House greeted us and made us very welcome. Excellent location, incredible views. Room was small but adequate. Small fridge. Hot shower only at night. Breakfast 9€ next door was nice. Tea/ coffee facilities in common lounge would have been a nice touch for the evening.

The room was pleasant and spacious but a bit tired. It’s was value for money but about as far from the town centre as you can get. But that only made it a 20 minute walk at best. It’s not a negative comment as some people love rock hard beds but they are not for me so the two nights sleep were not great. The main air conditioner wasn’t working but again that had a portable and it appeared to work well but couldn’t get the room temp down again I like about 20. So not a complaint as such but that’s why I didn’t rate it higher . Staff were nice and I chose to miss the breakfast so couldn’t comment .

Very nice stay

Very nice and unique hotel. Check in was easy. Just mentioned my name and We where shown straight to the room. No waiting around. The rooms are personalized. Old style but still very good quality. There was a balcony were we had the view to the main attractions of the city; the mountains with the monasteries on top. Could easily have stay there for more than one night. It’s in walking distance from the restaurants on the Main Street. (Look for the restaurant that the locals visit like; Ουζερί Ρακαριό) One thing that is missing is a water kettle. So maybe ask for one when you check in. I only found out it was missing when I wanted to use it 😅 and was leaving soon anyway. Enjoy the stay!

A beautiful place with not any service

The room vas really cosy and comfortable, with amazing views; but there was actually not any service at the guesthouse, not even the daily cleaning. We felt surprised when we found the room as we left it in the morning in our second night, as daily cleaning was among the services listed in our reservation at Hotels.com. The Guesthouse did not give us any explanation when we complained, just "it is not necessary only for few days". In our second day some maintenance works started, and the morning we were leaving more serious works started; it really looked like the hotel was closed, I don't know why they were hosting guests.

Good choice.

Meteora is an incredible place, and far more special if you can get out early and beat the tour groups, or leave it till late in the afternoon. Elena is a good choice. Sizeable rooms, balcony on the better rooms with wonderful views of nearby hills. Bathrooms are a little damp in feel and bath showers are always a little less practical than standard showers, but all is in good condition. Definitely worth the stay. Breakfast is an optional extra worth doing.

Tolle Lage, direkt an den Meteora Felsen. Auf den vom Gästehaus gegenüberliegende Felsen sind das Kloster Agia Triada und daneben das Kloster Agios Stefanos.

Es war eon schömes Zimmer in sehr ruhiger und autentischer Lage in dem ursprünglichem Ortskern mit guter Verbindung uum Fussweg zu den Klöstern. Was für und sehr schön war. Da wir zu Fuss unterwegs sein wollten

Great Location to Hike the Holy Trinity Monastery

This hotel is clean and easy to walk to from the train station. Not far from good restaurants. But it is an especially good location if you plan to hike up to the Holy Trinity Monastery as the beginning of the trail is just up the street. It's a great hike and can be done in 45 minutes if your are in good shape. I liked that Monastery a lot, even though it is a smaller one. We also had a beautiful sunrise view in the morning.

Hotel unterhalb der Meteora-Klöster

Das Elena Guest House ist absolut zu empfehlen. Es liegt direkt unter den bis 200 m hohen Felswänden, welche nachts angestrahlt werden. Sehr schönes Hotel, sehr schöne Zimmer mit Holz-Balkonen, toller Service, sehr feundliche Leute.

Blijf hier weg

Het begon al vooraf: op diverse mails om info over de kamer, kwam geen antwoord. Bij aankomst was er niemand om ons te ontvangen. Diverse malen geroepen doorheen het gebouw: geen antwoord. Gebeld naar de eigenaar: vaste telefoon ging in de benedenwoning over en werd niet opgenomen, mobiele nummers werkten niet. Na veel gedoe eindelijk de zoon des huizes in de benedenwoning gevonden: deed slaperig de deur open. Wist niet van onze komst. Na zijn moeder te hebben gebeld, gaf hij ons de sleutel, wees de kamer en was weer weg. De volgende dag zouden we hetzelfde bij andere gasten aanschouwen. Wij hadden een superior room met uitzicht op de bergen geboekt. Met veel geluk kon je iets zien, of je moest de bomen omhakken. Weer naar de zoon gegaan. Belde wederom de eigenaresse. We kregen een andere kamer met uitzicht. Iets later kwam de eigenaresse die beweerde ons een upgrade te hebben gegeven. Dit is gewoon een kwestie van misleidende info op de website. En wie laat de zoon van 16 jaar gasten ontvangen? De laatste avond was het beneden in hun benedenwoning zeer luidruchtig: de kinderen krijsten tegen elkaar en gooiden met deuren, de eigenaresse telefooneerde doodleuk ruim een half uur op speaker luidsprekend met andere en manlief kwam thuis met de auto. Hij bleef een tijd in de auto onder ons balkon zitten, met de radio keihard aan. Je kunt beter bij de buren verblijven: Alsos house... Elena maakt sowieso op haar foto`s gebruik van dat guesthouse om dat van haar groter te doen lijken

We reached late (10pm) and had a non-functioning AC in the room. The manager (owner's son) was very nice about this - he gave us the option to either look for another room in a different hotel. Finally, he was able to get us a few fans which made the situation manageable. The place is clean, breakfast is good and the people are amazing. WIll gladly stay again.

Customer service at its best !

Stayed two nights in April 2018. When we checked in the hotels website has indicated a double sofa bed but the owner explained that there was no such thing. She then took the time to show us every available room and let us select the best option for us at no extra charge even though she had to change around her future bookings. After check in, she sat with us and showed us on a map several recommended restaurants as well as the routes and information on the monastery’s. She also explained about the local market and how that would affect our travels. Breakfast the next morning was prompt and although basic, was tasty and filling. Better yet, she gave us access to the dining area for our whole stay because it was cooler and she wanted us to have enough room to be comfortable. She also opened a room next door so we could use the Terrice as it had better views of the mountains! The room itself was comfortable and the shower exceeded expectations with its jets :)

メテオラの素晴らしい景色が客室から見れます。

オーナーのエレーナさんがとても親切で、無計画の私達に半日ツアーを案内、予約してくれました。修道院を歩いてまわろうなんて無謀でした。ツアーに参加して良かったです。 電車まで時間があったので、ゲストハウスのシェアスペースで休ませてもらってたところ、エレーナさん手作りの出来立てケーキをいただきました。非常に親切な対応、ありがとうございました。

Pleasant stay near the rocks

Family run guest house at one end of Kalambaka near trailhead to rocks. Stayed in Alsos House (had booked Elena Guesthouse next door through Expedia and we were sent to Alsos instead). Clean and spacious rooms, nice patio to enjoy the view. Staff was warm and helpful. About 5 blocks away from downtown bustle (easy walk down moderate hill). Highly recommend!
