I am so impressed with the Kona Coast Resort. Everything exceeded my expectations: the suite, the service, and the amenities. This place was my favourite out of the 3 resorts we stayed at in Hawaii. Our suite was way bigger and better than I'd expected from the pictures. The bathrooms were very spacious and nice, and the master bedroom's bathroom had a huge bathtub with a tile platform and a step. Even the shower in the 2nd bathroom was huge, and the water pressure in both bathrooms was very good. The beds were big and comfy, and we had a huge kitchen and living room. The whole place was immaculately clean, and I loved that they provided lots of bath towels as well as beach towels. They have a lot of activities at this resort, and our favourite was the dance/band performance. There were a ton of different dances performed, and even some dances performed by a kids' dance school (?). I also liked that this resort seemed to be taking care of its stray cats. All of the resorts in Hawaii have stray cats, and sadly, at most of the resorts, the strays are in poor condition, and none of them are fixed. Kona Coast Resort's cats looked... maybe not in the greatest shape, but there were at least no cats with open wounds, none emaciated, and one of the cats was even TNR'ed (had the ear notch). As an animal lover, I found it distasteful and distressing to stay at a resort where none of the cats were fixed and had obvious medical issues that had gone untreated for a long time.

First of all I have to say the staff at Kona Coast Resort is top notch. 5 out of 5 stars for the staff, very friendly and helpful and really put out that aloha vibe. The property itself is another matter. It is pretty run down and outdated. When we walked into our unit it felt damp. The faucet on the kitchen sink was leaking water out onto the counter top. There was chipped tile throughout in the kitchen and bathroom. It was clean but looked dingy. No smart TV's to sign into netflix or other streaming services. Exterior of buildings looked dirty and dated as well. At one point they had someone power washing the exterior of the building outside our units door and water was pouring into the kitchen area from outside and we had to use towels to clean it up. We are lucky that we were currently in the condo at the time, because if we were out and about and came back after we would have walked into a puddle in the kitchen and could have slipped and really hurt ourselves. The unit was damp and humid and any. The unit was at ground level directly in front of a tee-box for one of the holes on the neighboring golf course and all we could here were drunk people teeing off and yelling, couldn't really enjoy the patio and no privacy. Again, the staff was amazing but not being able to pick the unit we stayed in was a big drawback and we would have paid extra to be up off the ground if possible. We loved the big island and will be back someday but will not stay here again.

This property and the rooms were STUNNING! After a full day of exploring and hiking, the bed was so comfortable and it was a beautiful, quiet place to come back to at the end of the day. The staff were incredible and went above and beyond!

Everything with the resort was very well maintained even in some of the older construction rooms. I had a mix up with the third party agency I used to get the room but the staff was very helpful in taking the time to find us a compatible configuration. The only downside in my stay was the intense marketing for time share presentations, so if you are not interested in spending 1.5-2 hours at least, listening to a sales pitch, then strongly decline. Otherwise I highly recommend staying at this beautiful resort.

The room was spacious and neat with nice view to the Golf course. Staff were friendly and helpful. There were just one thing we thought could have been improved: a pest control went to our room(with notice) during our stay to spray. We had to put away food in a hassle to accommodate that. We understood that was for roach control of the whole complex but hoped it could have been done after we check out.

Beautiful view of the ocean and nice pool facility. One pool was under construction but the main pool & hot tub were great and not overly crowded. The staff at check-in pushed the time share meeting but we heard from another guest that it was not a good experience so we didn’t do it. The condo was very large and comfortable with air conditioning & ceiling fans. The TV didn’t work well when we wanted to watch a movie at night. There is convenient shopping and restaurants within a very short drive. Overall we were happy with our stay here and we would come back again.

I thought it was a great value for the money. Having 2 bedrooms, full kitchen dining room, living room and nice size balcony with table for 6 pple. My only complaint is the Air Conditioning. It will not go lower than 74 and at times it seemed that it was not even blowing cold air. I can't imagine how hot the unit would be in the summer. It was very uncomfortable sleeping.

From the moment of check-in, the staff was absolutely amazing. Friendly, helpful, informative aall with the aloha spirit. The property itself is beautifully located in walking distance of a shopping center. And the view of the ocean/ sunset was just simply elegant. I would highly recommende this property to anyonr.

We got a room near the Quiet Pool, but it was closed for repairs; something we were not told in advance. It was a long walk to the other pool. The Wi-Fi was down two nights of are stay. They blamed it on their provider but that didn’t help us.
