This property is a value accommodation. It has 24 front desk. Room was neat and tidy. This property has a water cooler which is quite good. Remember that you get what you paid for, and this is value for money. Feels like a safe place to rest at night.

Very noisy - all rooms open to atrium which is like a concrete well from lobby to top floor. All noises from any level of the hotel carry to every floor. Noisy both morning and night. There also seems to be a disco next door. Booming bass rhythm continues to 3 am on both Friday and Saturday nights. Windowless room was very small, very basic, somewhat damp and musty. They tried to put me in a windowless room in the basement of the hotel, but quickly agreed to move me to the 2nd floor when I protested

The hotel is ok for a short stay. We had a windowless basement room that I found claustrophobic. Few hotel services, no breakfast on premises but the nearby shopping mall has several restaurants and a food court.

Was being awake the whole night by the loud blasting music till 6am in the morning. Not sure does it happen bcos of the poor structure that the walls are too thin or the music were too loud. Literally my partner and i had a very sleepless night.

Stayed for one night with 3 children but its very memorable one. Rooms were very clean, although small but very spacious with simple and modern furniture arrangment, no clutters. Thumbs up!!

Do not stay here if you are a light sleeper. Construction opposite the hotel was on going through out the night. It only stop when i was about to check out at 10am the next morning. Otherwise, room is clean.

Construction noises from the building across went on ALL NIGHT. It was extremely inconvenient to walk to the hotel’s side of the street even though it seemed convenient and near the mall. The room floor felt dusty.

Amazing new budget hotel, just right next to City Square mall (need to take the sheltered walkway beside Public Bank to access). Very accessible to the cafe stretch. Clean and comfortable rooms, toilet was fine. Late check-out option was also great. Only problem I think is the lack of soundproofing - there is some sort of club nearby that plays loud music until the early morning so we keep waking up at night.

An unfortunate noisy stay
This is my second time at Hotel CIQ. I chose it because it is super convenient - right opposite City Square and Komtar shopping mall, where I needed to be. Gong back to Singapore also means just a 5 mins walk to the immigration complex. The rooms are small but pleasant and clean, perfect if you need a room to rest at night. However, on this visit, there was construction ongoing opposite the hotel. It's crazy as it goes on 24hrs through the day, even on weekends. Impossible to have a proper rest. I am not sure about Malaysian laws but 24hrs construction cannot be legal, yes. I recognise it's not the hotel fault but I think the hotel has the responsibility to inform their guests. I stayed there for two winks and didn't manage to rest properly. Hotel CIQ is a good option for those who want to be near the main malls but be beware of this period!

Booked this hotel for a one night stay for a JB shopping trip. Location was great, being just opposite JB city square. The decor of the hotel is beautiful. The room and toilet were very clean and felt very new. Every floor had a water dispenser with hot and cold water. Service was also great and the receptionist was warm and efficient. Only downside is the slow wifi and the noisy surroundings that kept me up till 5am even though I was on level 3.

Above expectation.
Stayed in the room in the basement without window and it was a little unsettling as we were not used to not having any windows. Room was clean, bed was comfy. On the clothes rack however, there wasn’t any hangers. We resorted to hanging our clothes on the rack itself. Other than that it is not too bad. Toilet is spacious! There’s a water point on every floor, a thoughtful touch in case you run out of water. Love the decor of the hotel :) Overall a good experience and definitely worth the price we paid. We love it so much that we are thinking of staying there again. This time, in a room with windows.

Is a very clean hotel with very polite staff. Overall is great stay. Just have to engage a better pest control in the room. Red ants is crawling near the door, fridge area and the clothes hanging rack.

Second time stay.
Walking distance to shopping centres, eating places and flea markets. Easy for grab drivers to find. A little quiet at night but still pretty safe. Staffs are very friendly and helpful and would answer questions with knowledge. This is the second time stay for me and my partner. However, we expected our room to be the same but it was so much smaller than the first time. We were disappointed but the room was still in great condition. ❤

Can give a try if on budget, no frills, not clean.
No frills hotel near the checkpoint, service was warm and friendly. However, aircon wasn't working well so it got really warm and toilet towel racks were really dirty and full of chipped paint and dust. Would go back for its great location and service as it is near to the malls. With good WiFi.

Great location.
The hotel room is pretty spacious. The hotel location is cool as the hotel is located next to the Johor Bahru Custom. I personally love their decoration and the hotel service is great too.
