My recent stay at The Pivot Hotel was an exceptional experience from arrival to departure. We have always loved the vibrant energy of the Montecasino complex. Located in the heart of Fourways, it serves as a serene Mediterranean-inspired escape from the Johannesburg bustle. The Venetian-style architecture and the tranquil lake views create a unique "resort" feel. It’s a relief to step out of the high-energy casino environment and into the calm, sophisticated lobby of The Pivot.As always my room was spacious and spotless. The bedding was high-quality, and I particularly appreciated the welcome gift that had been left in the room for us. The staff were attentive from check-in to departure. Being just a short walk across the bridge to Montecasino is a huge plus. It provides easy access to world-class dining, theaters, and entertainment without the noise of the casino floor reaching your room. Breakfast at Punchinello’s was a standout. The variety of the buffet was impressive, and the terrace seating is the best way to start a morning in South Africa. We unfortunately only had the one night and had to move to our next destination. For those looking for a great hotel , the Pivot offers a level of quiet luxury that is hard to beat in the area. I would definitely return.

I had an absolutely lovely stay. The room was quite nice, but in particular I have to mention the staff who were exceptionally friendly, polite, and helpful. Possibly the best I have ever experienced. The breakfast buffet is equal to the best in Europe, and the egg chef is a fun guy and a master with eggs.

Delight in the Pivot

Breakfast was a sensational and Gastronomic Experience. What a beautiful spread of both the continental and English Fry Up! The French Toast and Danishes were particularly lovely ❤️ The warmth, friendliness and energy of all staff from Reception to the Waitresses, Hostesses and Chefs were commendable and certainly enhanced my Stay. The Pivot Hotel, Montecasino will always remain a delightful accommodation option for me.

Well for R6000 a night that is definitly not what a suite looks like, secondly the room looks and smells old. The tv is from 1992 can barely do anything none of the channels work properly.

I use the Pivot all the time when I visit Jhb. The service is aleays good. The rooms needs upgrading as it really still the old style hotel rooms. The TVs are not smart so this makes it even more old school....

The hotel is located within the Montecasino complex, and therefore is safe to walk around within the complex. There is also a small shopping centre with a supermarket nearby within walking distance. Any further than that would with private hire, which is readily available. The hotel has good spacious rooms which are cleaned daily also with fresh bottled water. The breakfast buffet is good with reasonable choice of hot and cold items as well as mad to order egg and omelettes. Service is friendly and very attentive which made it feel at the upper end of 4 stars

WRONG ROOM TYPE

The guests received the wrong room type on check-in... where they were placed on the 2nd floor that's all smoking rooms, while a non-smoking room was booked & requested?! Personally, I can't imagine that while in SA one is not allowed to smoke inside buildings any longer, that it is still even allowed to smoke inside hotel rooms as being seen as public places - awful!
