Hotel is good, breakfast is good, only the room needs to be renewed, not bad at all, but in photos they look better, bathroom was in very good condition, only the bedroom needs to improve a little. Very good location and the people is great.

I am a local professional in the tourism business, so I stay in a lot of hotels. I wanted to be close to my clients and chose The Colony based on location and the attractive room rate. There was an issue with my reservation, which was speedily resolved. My room was small, no view which is fine. I was a bit turned off by the condition of the furniture, the unfinished paint job, and lack of a light bulb in the sole two socket light fixture. More importantly however was that the hot water system wasn't working correctly so after being scalded by hot water, I had to keep my hand close the handle to find the right temperature. There was also a slight sewer smell coming from one of the drains both in the bathroom and in their common area. It wasn't overwhelming and it may not have been the hotel's problem but it was a bit off putting. Bottom line is that this is a budget hotel in an excellent area of Jerusalem. The accommodations were adequate but I wouldn't stay again.

Hôtel assez ancien mais relativement bien entretenu, très atypique mais chaleureux. Il est très bien situé, tout est accessible à pied. L'accueil était très aimable, les boissons chaudes avec les gâteaux casher pour Pessah sont vraiment un plus très appréciable.

Very old but clean at prime location

Incredibly well situated (prime location), a quiet street with all the coffee/restaurants/bakeries and shops of Emek Refaim, that are only 1 minute walk from the hotel. Note that the small cinema that is adjacent to the hotel was closed during our stay. When the cinema is open it might be noisy. The hotel is however very old and not renovated. Still clean and everything working very well: hot water for a good shower, air conditioning, ... Free parking on Beit Lehem Road, 2 minute walk from the hotel.

Good HD TV with "YES" box - many channels to choose from. Fast internet with easy connection. Plenty of hot water in the shower with high pressure. Nice bathroom amenities such as shampoo and bath gel. Did not like the noise from other rooms and the corridor late at night.

Nice clean hotel.

There was a misunderstanding about the room type booked with city views.. But we got it sorted. and the new room was as per booking. Thank you. The people are very nice. Have someone in the parking as you are checking in, you could get a fine in 5 mins if you are unlucky to arrive 10 mins before 6pm... We got a fine as we were checking in!

Great location. Excellent staff. Very friendly budget hotel. This is not a resort. It is a convenient, clean and safe budget hotel in a nice neighborhood. Rooms are small but clean. Breakfast is excellent. Wonderful location.

The rooms are on the second floor without an elevator. I was helped on arrival to get luggage up the stairs. The service was good and everyone was very pleasant. The room was very nice with a private shower. Thank you for a very pleasant stay.

חויה לא נעימה

לנו במלון 2 לילות. בלילה הראשון שמו אותנו בחדר שנראה כאילו מיועד לצוות- נמצא בקומה אחרת מיתר החדרים, ליד דלת הכניסה למלון וליד הכניסה לחדר האוכל. כל פעם שמישהו יצא מהחדר, היה צריך לוודא שהשני לבוש כיוון שניתן לראות לתוך החדר ממש הכל! החדר היה קלסטרופובי, ללא חלון ועם תקרה נמוכה. הדלת של החדר לא היתה אטומה, וכל הלילה שמענו את האורחים במלון נכנסים ויוצאים ומספרים את חוויותיהם. כשביקשנו חדר עם דלת אטומה נעננו כי המלון בתפוסה מלאה. סהכ, הצוות אדיב אבל מה שהיה לנו בלילה הראשון פשוט לא ראוי. בבוקר שלאחר לילה ללא שינה דפק לנו בדלת (כאמור, חדר לא ראוי ללא טלפון כמו החדרים האחרים) מישהו כדי להגיד שיעבירו אותנו לחדר אחר.

Quiet hotel, but not in the ideal location

The place was in a quiet neighborhood. The rooms were ok, but there was no elevator. They lied about free parking, it is limited street parking. The rooms were small but clean. I was just talking in the room and never have I had a reception person come across the hall and asked me to be quiet at 11 pm. I was not yelling or had The tv on, it’s because the place is older but as a paying customer I should be able to speak in a normal volume without being punished

This had easy parking which was amazing. It was also in a nice location and the staff were exceptionally nice. I appreciate all of those things. I would have appreciate a towel in the shower :) The bed was not amazing but not the worst. It was very clean and I felt super safe in this quiet area. You cannot beat the price.

The hotel charged me $20 more per night compared to the price I booked on Orbits. The manager (Josef Alian as he called himself) refused to do anything about it. He was rude. Otherwise, the hotel is minimal but it works.
